We're Not Dating, Folks!

That includes the cashier at Kroger, the random man from the street today, and my brother.

So, what prompted this remark? Well, this afternoon, Joey called me for a ride. I rushed from the car shop to his house so he could get to the place he needed to get to before it closed. He got in and got business down there in the nick of time. Afterwards, he decided to go to the Savannah Seafood Festival on River Street. He asked did I want to go along. I had nothing else to do, so I went with him.

And this is where things went weird. First, we stopped at my house. Joey had a headache and I needed to get my camera, so we stopped at my house to get pain medication and my camera. My house was on the way from Joey's place and downtown. Joey came into the house and met my father, Nicki, and Matthew again. My father instantly liked Joey; Nicki did not hesitate to tease him, and Matthew made an embarrassing remark to me as we left. *Blushing* Thankfully, we weren't at my house for long.

The most embarrassing thing was as we were leaving downtown, I made a remark on the way to the car about wanting something sweet. Joey thought I wanted candy. I was thinking more like ice cream. Well, this random guy on the street remarks that I wanted something sweet and that sweet thing was Joey. *Banging My Head Against The Wall* *Blushing* Joey immediately responded to the guy that I'm just a friend. And I reiterated this sentiment. After we walked away from that guy, I had to do a face palm.

We're just friends. Nothing more. People are seeing more in it than there is. It's starting to get annoying.

As for the seafood festival, it was okay. Well, to be honest, Joey and I were both disappointed in it. It was free. It was about 3 blocks of vendors selling seafood, a few overprices activities, and that's it. It's nothing like the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival, which I missed last month. There was a live band at the band shell on River Street, but the time we were down there, they played some CDs and had drunk white people doing dancing they never should be doing. I could not believe what I saw. Joey's face was priceless when he finally saw the dancing. *Laughing* I remarked that dancing was why I don't drink. He remarked he was glad when he drinks, which I've seen, he doesn't pull that stunt. The only thing good about it was we both got a good serving of Wild Georgia Shrimp for the price one of us would have paid for regular shrimp at a restaurant. And, it was nice to get out of the house this evening.

While I was down there, as we were getting our shrimp, I did notice a certain Savannah mayoral candidate at the newspaper booth talking to some people, campaigning. I had to immediately call a friend to remark on what I saw, which wasn't much. I'm just glad he didn't stop me to explain why I should vote for him.

And in other news, I'm still sick. I still have the mega blemish, but it's shrinking and stuff is coming out of it. I've been aggressively treating it. And my fever came back as we were leaving downtown. I had to take my sweatshirt off because I was so hot. This morning, I got up early to take my car to the shop. The brakes needed to be replaced. $327.00 worth of work, but I also had to get a tire patched, too. I was on my way to get my car when Joey called. Which, going out with him tonight was a good thing because I got to test my brakes. Since he drives my car, he got to feel the difference in the old brakes and new brakes, too. So, they passed the test. Now, I should feel better driving my car. *Smile*

I'm Sick

I've got a fever, but my body is trying to stave off an infection in my face and neck. I have an a huge blemish that's going to take a few days to heal. I think it was caused by an ingrown hair. I also have a swollen lymph node in my neck. Being sick sucks, but at least I'm functionally sick. It's not like the horrible flu I had last year.

Well, here's a video I found on a Fark thread. I thought it was cute:

The Thursday Threesome:Time is on my Side

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Time is-- your friend? ...or your enemy? It's your call, but how do you feel about "time"? Are you in need of a spare cupful? ...or are you set? At the moment, I feel like it's my enemy. I have 37 days until I graduate college. I feel like I have so much to do.

Twosome: on my-- way out the door, the last thing I check is to see....... Go ahead, fill in the blank! Make sure no of our pets get outside. The last thing I need to do is to be running late and have to hunt Graysie down outside.

Threesome: "Side--out Sports"... I just love that name. Have you seen any fun signs or slogans lately you can share with the gang? I thought this one at Sticky Fingers was funny, so I took a picture of it:

"Mais Aujourd'hui Tant De Choses Ont Changé"

Most of my day at school was spent working on my Senior Project. Today, second semester students in Senior Project had to start signing up for presentations of their projects. Dr. Lau came to me first to get when I wanted to present. I went ahead and chose to be first. I figured no else would and someone had to go first. As I was told later by a friend, I probably did the best thing. I'll be finished while all the others are working to get their presentation ready. *Laughing* Most of my work on my project was spent cleaning up my PHP code and working on the last part of my coding. Once the coding is finished, I will be so happy. *Smile* Before the next trough…

Lunch today was spent again with Lindsey and Joey at colloquium. Lunch was hummus and some cupcakes. I ate the cupcakes only. I may be trying to extend my pallet, but hummus is something I'm just not going to eat. I've had the chance and just not going to do it. Lindsey didn't know what is was, so she tried it. She didn't like it. Joey told her she was eating it wrong. *Laughing* He said it needs to be eaten with bean sprouts, and gave her a sprout to try. She still didn't like it. I know I would have acted just like her. The talk was all about Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) in the engineering classes. It was interesting and wasn't too full of math. After the talk, we got to see some of the prototypes made from this technology. Joey wished he could have stayed for the talk, but he left half way in the talk when he noticed he didn't have all the documents for a group assignment due today. He wasn't too happy when he left. I could understand his feeling.

Digital Photography class was short and quick. The professor wanted to get home to his baby's first Halloween. He showed us costumed cats and dogs, and then we went over our abstract assignments that were due today. I got a complement from a classmate over one of my photos during the presentations. She liked how the water beaded on a purple leaf. I explained during my presentation that on one of my shots, I not only used my camera's macro setting, but I also used a filter on the camera that's a 3x magnification lens. He asked me how I used it and told the class the such a filter is a cheap alternative to a big macro lens. I'm the only one in that class that uses a filter on her photos.

After the end of school, I spent some time at Joey's. He made me a pork chop dinner. *Yum!* He promised me one last week, but kept forgetting to defrost them! He finally remembered last night to take them out. I assisted him by washing the green beans and stirring in the cheese mix with the macaroni. I also had to run down to the creepy convenience store to pick up something for him. After we had finished eating, he popped in a DVD of The Master. I don't recall this show, but it's one he watched when he was 11 or 12. It was total 1980s cheese. I couldn't help but laugh at it. It was predictable and had plenty of holes in it. The specific episode we watched was "The Juggernaut," which featured Diana Muldaur. But, dinner and a crappy TV show was just what I needed tonight.

When I got home, I spent time with my father in my brother's room. Cozy came home this afternoon while I was at school. Matthew and my father got him. His care costed less than we expected. At the moment, Cozy has to stay in Matthew's room. He's back to his old self, sort of. He was quite happy to see me when I saw him. He knows I was there to care for him the other night when he was sick. He knows I was the one that got him from the emergency vet. His being with me was his way of saying thank you. However, when Matthew, who was asleep, mumbled in sleep, Cozy ran straight to Matthew. My father and I left Matthew's room and went outside to view what I think is Comet 17P/Holmes. I'm not too certain, but there was something bright out there we weren't used to seeing in the sky.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I totally forgot it was Halloween. The only thing special I'm doing for the occasion is a pork chop dinner. *Laughing*

My Father The Bad Influence.

My dad has never met my friends Lindsey and Joey. He knows of them. Lindsey's the chick I'm always doing stuff with, like going to Six Flags and lunch. Joey's my male friend in life that gives me advice and occasionally makes me dinner. However, my dad made an impact today. Lindsey, Joey, and I went to Loco's for lunch. Loco's is located in Abercorn Common. The shopping center is environmentally friendly. As part of its environmentally friendly features, it has a few parking spaces for hybrid cars. These spots are located next to the handicap spots.

The first time my dad saw these hybrid spaces at the shopping center, he was not happy about them. He kept asking what makes the hybrid cars so special to have special parking. He could understand handicapped parking and mothers-to-be. My grandmother was handicapped in her old age and my mother had some difficult pregnancies with my younger siblings. But the hybrid parking just got to him. He decided that hybrids aren't that special, so he parked our van in the hybrid spot.

Lindsey and Joey saw the spots today for the first time and started asking the same the questions my dad asked the first time he saw them. I started to laugh. I recalled the above mentioned event and remarked about it. The 2 of them laughed and enjoyed my dad's thought process. Joey, being the designated driver of my car, decided my dad's story was such a good idea, he'd do the same! So, Joey turns back to the hybrid parking spot and parks my car in the slot. So, even though my dad has never met them, he made an impact on them today.

Actually, my dad would like them. Since the beginning of the Summer semester, the 3 of us have gotten to know each other better. We have very similar political views. Their views are also very similar to my dad's. Either one of them will say something and it will be like my dad is in the room because he says the same thing when we're together at home having a conversation.

When I told my dad about the hybrid parking today, all he could do was laugh and send a bravo out to Joey for doing the same thing.

Sick Kitty Part 2.

Cozy at the vet's
Moblogged by peachy92.

Well, Cozy's going to cost a pretty penny to get him all fixed up and better. I don't even want to say how much it's going to cost my father and my brother. And yes, my brother is contributing to Cozy's care since Cozy's his cat.

This picture is Cozy at our regular vet's office. Yes, he has the Elizabethan collar to keep him from pulling out his IV and catheter. I got him this morning and took a few camera shots of him. Yes, he looks grumpy in this photo. For him, that's a good sign. He's always been a grump. When I picked him up, he heard my voice and recognized me and wanted to see me. While he may be costing a small fortune to get him to feel better, it's worth it. He's family.

I had a few people tell me if he were their cat, they would have put him down. One back tracked and said he'd do the same for his dog. My explanation for why we aren't putting him down is Cozy is family. Why put him down if he can't pee if we wouldn't put my father down if he had the same problem. You do what you can for your family. Cozy is family. He may be a grumpy cat, but he's our grumpy cat that means the world to us.

Today in Wesley lunch, we celebrated All Saint's Day, albeit a little early. Similar to one of the events I did for Saturday night worship at the United Methodist Student Movement Student Forum back in May, we had a moment of reflection of the dearly departed and lit candles in their honor. I lit a candle for my mother. I am so stressed at the moment. Between all the constant bickering of the house, the sick cat, and my upcoming graduation, I am spent emotionally. I wish she were here with me.

Sick Kitty.

Cozy
Uploaded by peachy92.

Cozy is ill. *Frown* He's 11-years-old. We got him as a very young kitten back in 1996. Matthew found him under his best friend's home and brought him home after my mother said he could adopt the kitten. Since Lucky died, Cozy's been Matthew's best furry friend.

I found Cozy last night in the bathroom lying down, sort of being a space cadet. He wasn't his regular self. He let me pick him up without fussing at me in one way or another. I had Nicki look over him. We had Daddy look over him. We woke Matthew to look at him. Matthew could tell off the bat Cozy wasn't well when he didn't respond to cat treats. Cozy, when healthy, is ready to tear your hand apart just to get to the treats. Cozy wouldn't eat the treats. Matthew stayed with him during the night, but around 4 AM, Cozy puked. My dad and I took him to the emergency vet. Cozy is there at the moment, on a catheter. He's got a blocked urethra and seemed to have one for a while. The vet told us that cats are good at hiding this sort of thing, so it makes sense we wouldn't have found out he was sick until I found him last night. In the morning, I have to transfer Cozy from the emergency vet to our regular vet. I just thank God it's just a blocked urethra and not something worse. I feared he had a stroke.

In other news, I watched the Georgia Bulldogs/Florida Gators game. As a Georgia Tech person, I felt dirty, but I watched it so I know what people are going to talk about at school tomorrow. I'm listening to advice one of my professors gave me earlier this year. I will admit it was an interesting game. Half way through the game, Joey called me to see if I would download Georgia's battle song onto my computer. He wants to tease a Florida fan over how the game went down. *Razzing My Tongue*
