Wesley Dinner Was Tonight.

We had our monthly Wesley dinner tonight. It was a good time. Melissa and Chris made beef and chicken kabobs, broccoli, peas, corn, and bread. It wasn't pizza! And it was yummy. Dinner consisted of Lindsey, Chris, Jessie, Ashlee, this guy Thomas, and a new girl, Joyce. Thomas left after dinner. The rest of us played Apples to Apples after dinner.

Apples to Apples was quite interesting. *Laughing* The fun thing about the game is that you can play a dumb noun card unrelated to the adjective card at play and still win the round. The funniest was when the word Puffy was played by Lindsey's husband Chris (as opposed to Melissa's husband Chris). The cards were turned over and someone played Princess Di. *Laughing* We were all stunned and amused by the card at the same time. It ended up the winning card. It ended up being Lindsey's card. I shouted I knew there was a reason I liked them! Other funny cards like toes being played at delicious happened as well.

Later in the evening, we went from playing Apples to Apples to just having a discussion about the state of the world: pit bulls, socialized health care, travel, Armstrong, and Wesley Foundation activities. It was good to spend time with my friends. After the night was over, I ended up taking Ashlee home.

The night started early so we could spend time with Xander, Melissa and Chris's son. Last year, he was asleep when it was dinner time. Now that he's the big 3 (I can't believe he's 3!), he can spend a few hours with the older kids. He enjoyed my camera and telling Lindsey and me what to do. I took my camera, but I wasn't too into taking photos tonight. I only took photos to play with Xander and connect with him.

Now, it's time for me to get to bed.

Solicitation Call

I just got a call on my cell phone that basically went like this:

Indian Call Worker: Is Shawn there?

Me: This is she.

Indian Call Worker (ICW): Yes, I would *garble garble garble*

Me: I can't hear you.

ICW: *garble garble garble*

Me: I still can't hear you. Let me move to another room.

ICW: Ms. Shawn *garble garble garble*

Me: I still can't hear you.

ICW: I'd like to offer you *garble garble garble* Now Shawn is your first name?

Me: I'm sorry, the connection is bad. I can't hear you.

ICW: *garble garble garble*

Me: I still can't hear you

ICW: *garble garble garble* Credit card *garble garble garble*

Me: You said the magic word. I don't want one. Don't send me one. If you do…

ICW: We want to send *garble garble garble*

Me: …I'm just going to cut it up. Don't sent me one.

ICW: *click*

Well, not exactly, but that's that gist of it. The call identified as being out of California, but based on the guy's accent and the quaility of the call, it sounded as if it came from India. I'm pretty sure it was a credit card offer, and I'm not going to go over those things on the phone. I think the thing that pissed me off the most is the guy could not grasp the concept of me not being able to hear him! I know he could hear me. I just couldn't hear him. It was digitalized and scrambled as if I were having a call over the Internet on dial-up. And after I said no, he just hung up on me. *Frown*

Thank Goodness Tomorrow's Friday.

Tomorrow is dinner at Melissa's house. And she promised us it won't be hot dogs, hamburgers, or pizza. *Smile* Lindsey and I are sick of pizza! The past 2 colloquia have been pizza. The last Wesley lunch was pizza. We're sick of pizza. I was excited yesterday at our ACM planning meeting we're going for subs over pizza. In addition to dinner, I have a organization presidents meeting to attend, I think, for Wesley. If I'm not meant to be there, I'll leave.

Yesterday's colloquium was interesting. One, it was something I could understand. It was all about a system for checking assignments for CSCI 1301, 1302, and any other JAVA programs for a class. Some members of the IT department, other than the current and ex-head, actually showed up.

Classes today were okay. E-Commerce got so boring, I pulled out my phone and played Tetris. I hate doing that stuff, but I think helped my concentration in that class. And cell phones were all the rage in Meteorology class. Ms. Revival, I think, had her phone go off in class. I'm not certain if it was her, but the ringing and the subsequent "Hello?" from a female voice came from her direction. Yes, someone answered her phone in class! *Banging My Head Against The Wall* Later, the professor, stressed out from his main job at the TV station, forgot to turn off his phone. It rang during lecture. At least he didn't answer it in class. Next week, I have tests in both these classes, but not on the same day. Gotta know how to calculate solar angles and the difference in E-Commerce I and E-Commerce II!

Joey kind of bugged me the past two days. Yesterday, during the ACM meeting, he made a remark about Lindsey and I sharing a brain. I mildly tapped him over it, but I wanted to sock him. Today, he mocked my voice when I whined that I wasn't stupid. I hate being treated like a child, and that was what he was doing tonight telling me about the E-Commerce test. I shouldn't have whined. I've tried so hard to stop the whining in my voice when frustrated, but after feeling stressed since school started it, it just came out. I can't get too man at him; after all, he will help me with school work if I need it.

The Thursday Threesome: The T-3

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: The-- best things in life are free? What's your favorite freebie? I'm thinking of some annual event you partake in... As a college student, the best freebie to cheap day is AASU Day. We get a free shirt, free pens, and free food. It's a fun day! And this year, I am climbing the wall.

Twosome: T---buckets, Model T's, maybe even Thunderbirds? Do you have any ties to classic cars or modified roadsters? Not really. I'm not a car person.

Threesome: 3-- days until Sunday, but the NFL season begins tonight! Who's your team this year? Not a football fan? Post your rant on why not <g>! I root for the Tennessee Titans. My family is originally from Nashville. My father adopted the team when it moved to Nashville. We took it on, too. Last season was a very exciting season. They didn't expect the team to do well at all. And at first, it didn't. Then, Vince younger started winning and you just couldn't really stop the Titans for a few weeks. Just when the other teams thought they did, like last season's game against the Giants, the Titans rallied. It was fun watching football last year.

"As Soon As My Heart Stops Breaking"

I'm not in the mood to post, so here's a video of a song I've been into lately.

"It's Like A Knight In Shining Armor / From A Long Time Ago / Just In Time I Will Save The Day / Take You To My Castle Far Away"

That line from "Glory of Love" sounds so dated. What chick wants to be saved by a knight and taken to a castle? We chicks want other stuff. We want more modern stuff. Knights and castles are so passé. But we want them. Deep down, most girls want the knight and castle, metaphorically. I could really use a knight and a castle tonight to save my day. I could just really use a shoulder to cry on and comfort me. After a while, Scooter and my dad just don't cut it. Why am I down? I just realized I'm veryclose to graduation. I haven't done anything for grad school application. I haven't a job lined up. I feel lost. I could just use a great big hug from a significant other at the moment. I could use that knight and castle.

This panic attack happened on my way home from a presentation at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church. I've been working on their website for part of my Senior Project. Today was the day they wanted to get the site launched. It's uploaded now. I also gave a quick overview presentation to the congregation after their baptism server they had today. I even watched the baptisms. It was interesting tonight. I even was dressed up today. I don't know if any of the guys noticed it. They sure didn't say anything at school. The main thing about the church site is the congregation loved it. They have been working on getting something for 2 years and considered me their blessing from God for this project.

I know I'll feel better in the morning.

My brother made spaghetti tonight. He added mustard to the sauce. *Yuck!* I hate mustard. Somewhere along the way, his girlfriend taught him to put mustard in his tomato sauces. We don't live in South Carolina! However, she does have family in SC, which can explain the mustard. I like my tomato sauces tomatoey!

I Had No Labor Day.

*WHAT THE!* A bulk of my day today was spent working on my Senior Project. I had things to clean up for the church website I'm doing. I also had to finish the manual for the site. I was going to print it at Kinko's, but it was going to cost me about $79.00 to do it! I don't have that type of money. The church will get an electronic copy tomorrow, when I see them.

I'm glad to be getting this part out of the way. It gives me more time to work on my E-Commerce paper and the final paper for Senior Project. The manual can go in as part of the appendix. That will be 77 pages! It's going to cost a fortune to get that final paper printed! Matthew said I should see how much Staples cost to get the printing done. I will. I'll have to ask my advisor what parts does he want for our draft. Can I turn in the 5 chapters he's expecting and save the manuals for the final copy. There is nowhere on campus that will let me print 109 (and counting) pages for a draft. Or, does he just want an electronic copy (please!)?

At least E-Commerce won't cost an arm and leg to print. *Laughing* I'm proud to say I have a few more monkeys off my back.

I did a few minutes today working on my golf swing. It's been too hot, me not having enough time, or raining this week that's been preventing me from practice. I could have spent a few more minutes, but I didn't want to. *Sigh* I don't give a crap about my golf grade. I'm more concern about graduation.

Tomorrow will be spent in class, working on my Senior Project paper, taking a few more photos for my photography assignment, visiting and meeting the church, and all that good stuff. *Smile* I just have to survive September!
