I did more work for the AASU ACM chapter today. I worked a bit more on the management interface for Jack, our Membership Committee Chair. I am so taking credit for what I have done for my Senior Project. I am borrowing heavily from it for this ACM project. I also met with Chris, our advisor, to work on server space issues. And I just now posted the meeting minutes from Tuesday, since Joey's out of town until school starts again. Can't fault the guy for not being here; he's got a perfectly understandable reason. I have stopped the ACM stuff for the night. I'll continue on the interface tomorrow. When it's finished, I am showing it to Dr. Lau, as well.
Anything else? Well, my car has cruise control. I was wondering why in the world my standard transmission needs it, but let me say I feel a difference in using it compared to an automatic car. I could never feel cruise control being on in my Malibu. Yet, on the Focus, I know it's on. I don't have to switch gears on the open road, like a freeway, when it's on. I like it. And yes, I never did use cruise control in my Malibu.
I also got my books for this last undergraduate semester. I spent $92.00 on a used meteorology book! The only other book I needed is golf book, which I got for about $9.50, including shipping, on Amazon.com. I had no choice but to get the meteorology book at school. It looks more and more like I will attend school next semester. I figured it wouldn't hurt to attempt one semester of graduate school. I will need to talk to my Data Comm professor about it. She's not in charge of the CS graduate program at school, but she knows the head very well. Personally, I want to get out school and get a job ASAP, because I'm tired of my home life, but pursuing a Master's degree is just as beneficial. I joked with Lindsey today that I wish I were married! I am so craving my own place, along with the other benefits of marriage.
Gennie and I are still working on our meetup for Savannah Bloggers. We each hope to post the information as soon as we finalize details. We even have a few Flickr members interested in it.
And now, Thursday Threesome:
Onesome: Writing-- on the web: Do you consider yourself a writer, in that you provide a narrative of some sort? ...or a responder, wherein you primarily work the meme circuit? I'm more of a writer that reflects on her life. This meme is about the only meme I do regularly now.
Twosome: your-- place: did you do your own design? ...or did you pick out something from the established templates? I hacked and patched this design together. It really needs to be worked on, but I don't have the energy after IT classes and the like.
Threesome: Blog-- this! What's your favorite type of thing to run across that you just can't wait to get to the computer to post? Photos count, but for the photobloggers (like Laurie and me), what is it that you just know you won't be able to hold on to for even a day? Lately, it's a reflection of events related to the photos in my Flickr set.

I spent most of my day not on Senior Project, which uses PHP 5, but developing a crude management script for ACM, using PHP 4. I didn't get it completed, but the person in charge of member management has a script that can add members to a database, send an e-mail to all members, and list the members so he can e-mail them one-on-one. It's going to take a bit of thinking to get the edit part working.
I'm also sick of vile people.
Last night on Fark, a story about a step-father upset that his step-daughter's step-mother posted photos of her in a bikini was posted. The girl is 14-years-old. She's not stick thin. I could not believe the number of asshats posting mean remarks over the girls's size. The poor girl just wore a bikini on a family vacation. She probably didn't ask her step-mother to post the photos. She also probably didn't ask her step-father to raise a cow about them. While I think her step-father is acting stupid and made a small little bump in the road into a big mountain, it's also mean of strangers to insult this girl like they are. I just hope those asshats remarking on the girls look will get their just deserts one day. As for the step-father, he just looks like an idiot for bringing this to the news. It didn't help that the local news station covering the story proceeded to leave enough clues in the video that the Farkers found the MySpace in question and the girl's photos. If the step-father kept this a private matter, none of the asshattery that is pissing me off would have happened. And I know I'm not the only one appalled at the mean comments.
In other news, Gennie and I are close to finalizing our plans for a Savannah Blogger meet up. We're choosing a venue, now. I'll post details as soon as it's all set! ![]()

Let see. I saw 4 of the guys and gal that are starting Senior Project this fall. I got a forward from one half of Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum and saw the other one on campus today. And the one on campus was friendly to me! He's softened over the 3 years since we first took classes together. I guess he realized I'm not just any old idiot, but someone that's works hard for the degree.
Seems tomorrow is the day that all the Spring graduates are to have their Application for Graduation turned in and paid for. The ones I saw today are scrambling to get it done. I'm glad I got my done in March. And those that had to get it done this month also have to/had to pay $52.00 for it. I got mine in for a bargain of $49.00. I just hope they get my name right on my degree. I don't need my name misspelled on it. I'm going for the whole name on it. And I plan on getting the $200.00 frame for it. I have worked hard for this and I want to show it off with pride.
I also got the website for the school's ACM chapter up. I'm having issues with connecting to our MySQL server, but other than that, it's up. Tomorrow, we have a meeting for ACM to get ready for our welcome back cookout and first meeting of the semester. My job is to report on the status of the website.
I only stalled in my car twice today. I know why I stalled going from reverse to forward 1st gear. I didn't apply enough gas. My second stall out puzzled me when it happened. Again, it wasn't enough gas applied to the engine. However, I could have sworn I did. I'm getting better.
In fact, I am a lot different, more sure of myself, and more capable of things than I was 3 years ago when I returned to school full time. It's all for the better.
