It's Alive!

Kylie is alive. The gerbil is lucky I didn't kill her!

Around 4:30 this morning, I awoke in bed to a feeling of a large bug on me. I figured it was a palmetto bug, at first. Scooter, if he finds a palmetto bug, likes to bring them to me in bed. Damn bug would not get off me after 3 times of brushing it off of me. In the dark, I sat up to brush the determined bug. I look down at one of my pillows and saw a giant palmetto bug. Except this was a huge, gray palmetto bug with a tail. And with the small amount of light in the room, I realised this wasn't a bug, but a rodent. And not just any rodent, but the missing gerbil! After chasing her on the bed, I scooped her up and ran to Beth. I woke Beth up and told her to turn on the light. I needed her to confirm it was Kylie.

The gerbil appeared just as we had given up looking for it. Isn't that always the case? You find what you're looking for when you quit looking. I'm just wondering where it has been for the past week. And how did it get from Beth's room to the back bedroom? And how did it get on the bed? We won't be able to answer these questions.

My father demanded that I apologize to Harri for the gerbil thing. I had been calling her Gerbil Eater. I knew she didn't eat the gerbil, however, her response to her natural urge to eat the gerbils lead to Kylie being missing for a week. But, there is no rogue gerbil in the house anymore!

Testing Testing Testing

Yes, I am testing a new program call BloGTK. It's a blogging client similar to w.bloggar, but for Linux boxes. I was able to download and install it without any help. The only help I've needed with installing anything on this Linux box of mine has been the AMP set up. Other than that, I've been learning. I figured now was a good time to find a stand-alone blogging client for my computer. So far, this isn't too different from w.bloggar for Windows. I can't upload files nor have the music fun stuff, but I can create a custom HTML tag list, so I can create my own music insert shortcut.

This week, I have been working on my senior project for graduation. I have been playing around in PHP and making minor edits to a database via PHP scripts. In fact, the PHP script displayed in my previous entry is a working PHP script I developed for testing purposes. *Laughing* I spent about 5 hours today working with expanding a PHP script I developed the other day. In addition to expanding it, I worked on having it display valid HTML coding. Took a while, but I got it. I need to finish the script, but not tonight.

And now, the Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Crazy-- things happen with the heat; is there anything strange happening yet where you live? We've had some horrible heat in the past week, but for the most part, it's been cool for summer weather this year. It should all change next month.

Twosome: with the-- changing seasons,.how does your wardrobe change? No, we're not trolling for the pervs; let's stick with outerware... In South Georgia, you use the warm weather clothing more than the cold weather clothing. Except this year, I still need winter clothing on April 15th!

Threesome: heat!-- Okay, what is "heat" to you? When do you figure it's time so stay out of the sun and cool off? Heat is 90° and above!

Do You Know LOLCODE?

Iz on your computers typen in LOLCODE. Scooter here is an example of lolcat. What's a lolcat? Here are some links on lolcats. I *Love* love lolcats. I can't get enough of them. Well, lolcats have now inspired LOLCODE.

The Chicago Cubs *Play Ball!* are currently playing my Atlanta Braves. Bad blood between the teams this year. Last week, Cubs teammates were fighting each other over how they were losing to the Braves. Last night, Tim Hudson hit Alfonso Soriano, causing more bad blood. Tonight, Ted Lilly got tossed after hitting Edgar Renteria. Renteria took out Mike Fontenot stealing second. And we're just now in the third inning! This is the last game between the teams in the regular season. No telling how much trouble there will be, just as long as the Cubs' Mark DeRosa isn't taken out. DeRosa's a former Brave and he's a good reason why I'm a baseball fan. He's a fine piece of eye candy to see on the screen. And anyone that teases my sister is cool, too.

I enjoy baseball, not only for the eye candy, but for the thought process involved in playing the game, too.

In other news, I finally took my car out for a drive today. My father came along with me. I went out to west Chatham County. My dad got his quick trip into to look at Bill Waits RV World. I drove around in some new subdivisions. My dad remarked how he doesn't like the new homes of today. I had a few problems with changing gears, and I lost my cool for a bit, but I didn't do too bad. I think I can drive a manual now. However, if I do go off with someone (Kelly Johnson homers!) that likes driving manual in my car, they can drive it. *Laughing*

Well, Scooter is here to code some more.
