Soap Opera Dreams

Daisies in Black and White
Uploaded by peachy92.

Anyone want to explain this dream to me? I dreamt I was a soap opera character from a soap I watched as a child. Why this character, I don't know. Gabrielle was a bitch. But, I can't deny she really loved her son and most of her evilness came out of trying to get far for her loves. Anyways, I was her and she spent the whole time in my dream with one of her true loves just fondling and kissing him.

Today's photo is from this morning. I took some photos of campus, most in black and white. I took the photos in color, as well, but some just looked better in shades of gray. I woke up early and just got to campus earlier than I needed.

Today was payday at school. I also promised to help someone at 10 this morning. He didn't need much help, but I showed him the procedure for getting a paycheck. We also found out what colored time sheets we have to fill out in the summer.

After my photography and paycheck stops, I stopped by the ACM lounge. Wes was in there, so I got him to help me a bit with my LAMP issues. I ended up getting something to work on my own, but it just feel better to have a cheerleader. As we were working on that, we stopped and went to the bank together, instead alone. It's just easier if all of us CS/IT students pile into one car and do things together, at once, than separate trips.

The 2 of us came back to campus to find anyone else we knew on campus to go to lunch all in a group. Renee walked into the room. We talked her into going, and she got Bobby to come over. The 4 of us ended up walking to the other side of campus to Ken and Candy's for lunch. We had a good time.
Bobby treated us as a celebration of his and Renee's graduation this past Saturday. I think it did me well to be with my friends.

And early this evening, my dad and I went out to Armstrong, since by 6 PM, it's deserted by faculty and commuting students. Plus, many other students are moving out for the summer. We went out there for me to practice driving my car. He said I didn't do too bad, considering I have never driven with a clutch before. We stopped as soon as I got frustrated trying to make a turn onto Roger Warlick Dr. I stalled out a few times attempting the turn.

The Thursday Threesome: Super Mario Brothers

Street Markers

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Super-- heroes and comic book characters? Have you seen "Spiderman 3" yet? Will you? I haven't seen, and I don't want to see it. I really don't get into blockbusters. I still haven't seen the other 2, yet.

Twosome: Mario-- Brothers led one gaming revolution: are you a gamer? Online? ...or is this one of those things you just don't even notice? I've got a Wii, but I haven't played in a bit. I should. I just don't want to at the moment.

Threesome: "Brothers-- in Arms"? Just listening to some old Dire Straits this evening: how about something new on your music radar you can share with the gang! Evan and Jaron has released a few new songs via their MySpace page. I downloaded a few of them the other day; I need to get the others.

In other news, I went downtown today and took some photos of parts of town I haven't captured in pixelated form. I also have a few photos from last night's dinner at Outback. My dad turned 53 last night.

Changing Operating Systems

My laptop is no longer running Windows. *Smile* I've got Feisty Fawn Ubuntu 7.04 installed on it. I was going to originally do a dual boot of Ubuntu Linux/Windows XP on this laptop, but it was too much of a hassle. I did this all weekend. Sunday was spent defragging my computer so I'd have the space of a dual boot. Yesterday morning was spent first trying to install Ubuntu, followed by transferring more files to my external hard drive, followed by just chucking the entire Windows system and doing a fresh, clean install of Ubuntu on my hard drive. It's very convincing to do that when both a CS undergrad and a freshly minted Master of CS tell you that "Windows blows."

At the moment, Ubuntu's doing nearly everything I need done. Can I surf the Internet? Doing so right now. With my wireless card? Yep. Can I listen to music? Got a song on right now. Can I get photos from my digital camera? Found out that cane be done with no problem with Aric's computer (also running Ubuntu). Upload them to Flickr via a program? Even figured that out. Now, to get MySQL/Apache/PHP installed. I should be working on at the moment. I just thought I'd play around some more with my new OS before cracking down and getting to work on what I need.

In other news, Beth and Ben, her boyfriend, adopted some gerbils this week. They are called Kylie and Puddin' Pop. Harri has already tried to break into the cage and Scooter knocked them down this morning. Beth's trying to understand why the cats are trying to get these rodents but never touched her Topaz. Well, Topaz was years ago when we had different cats. Harri and Scooter weren't born yet; Lucky and Misty were well behaved girls. It's not going to be the same.

I am finally finished with school this semester. I should have all As in my classes that are giving me grades this semester. I know I have an A in Theater. My Ethics professor pretty much confirmed an A in her class when she told me grade on my paper that was due Monday. Yes, it was reviewed and graded by yesterday afternoon. I got a 95 on the paper; she kept it; I only wanted my notebook back. I think I got an A in Graphics Design. All I have left are 4 classes and a senior project to complete.
