Venting

I've got to vent for a bit. Maybe it's just a girl thing. I'm pretty much the only female on this school project I work on. Well, the guys do work on the project, but they don't do a complete job. They are just happy to stick things on the web, without properly formatting the items. In turn, the site that promotes our project looks like crap. And if things don't work, they come crying to me about it. If they would just take the time to stop and review things, this stuff won't happen. I know I shouldn't complain too much. In the end, I have something to do to get paid for. I think the thing that gets me the most is that the claim they know how to format HTML. Yet, I have to go back and fix it.

Don't claim you're an expert when you can't back it up. I don't call myself an expert on anything. I know I can always learn more than I know. I've met a lot of so-called experts during my time at Armstrong. Most of them are anything but! The real experts I know, student-wise, are the ones that are humble and just do the work.

Since I forgot to do this last night:

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: One-- or more siblings? ...or just you? I have 3 younger siblings. The long I live with them, the more I can't wait to get my own place.

Twosome: Two-- favorite shows (TV or Movie, or heck, even iPod!) on this season? I've gotten into The Amazing Race this season. I wish I could go on that show! I just don't have a partner for it

Threesome: Three-- ways to cook hot dogs? That's what the kids tell me. Yes? No? More? I'll spot you the 'boiling water'... On the grill. It's the only way. Boiled hot dogs are yucky.

The Semester Goes Downhill Now.

ODK Ceremony
Uploaded by peachy92.

I only have 4 things left for this semester: A paper on a high school play, a graphical animation, a Senior Project journal report, and one final paper for Ethics. Doesn't sound too bad now, does it?

I have been busy the past couple of days. Yesterday was the day my Ethics paper on Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures was due. My professor has already read mine and told me it was an enjoyable paper on a droll subject. After Ethics class, I went to the school's awards convocation to get my Who's Who Award. I left as soon I could from the ceremony. I was alone and missing my mother. I wish she could have been there last night. They had the Who's Who thing at the end of the ceremony. I wish I could have gotten a Silver A. However, those awards are for those that have no life other than school. Sorry, I do have a life that isn't school.

Today, I spent money I shouldn't have spent. I got a spring skirt set, some new shoes, some earrings, and my hair cut and styled. I looked nice. I had 2 events today. The first one was the Omicron Delta Kappa induction ceremony. I was finally inducted. I came to help out, because I have done nothing else for it. The faculty advisor then asked if I wanted to get inducted as well. I had her back in the summer, so it wasn't like I was a stranger. So, I helped line the Beta Class inductees up and led the line. They had me get my stuff prior to the others. Only 3 people from the School of Computing are members: me, Dr. Greenlaw, the Dean of the School of Computing, and Bobby. Bobby was Ellen for the night. His name was accidentally printed up as Ellen Street. The officers promised him a corrected version of the program, but he thought the Ellen Street one was funnier and cooler to have.

After ODK finished, Bobby and I had time to kill. We both had the banquet for the School of Computing to attend, as well. We walked across campus, found Wes, and then spoke until it was time to return to the Armstrong Center. The banquet was nice. Dinner was roast beer, turkey, and salmon. I ate above-ground meats. Also part of the dinner were the following: rolls, salad, steamed veggies, potatoes, cake, and pie. I skipped on the veggies and pie. And as I answered an e-mail about food: "The food at the banquet was surprisingly good. I needed some salt, but I was surprised at how good the food was. Neither my meat nor cake was dry." I sat with Lindsey, Chris, 3 other IT majors, 1 IT date, and 1 IT professor. I didn't get an award, but I had fun. Daniel got the Outstanding CSEMS scholar, which he deserves. He's the only other scholar who is as active as I am. Now, there's a race as to which one of us will get Outstanding IT major next year. *Laughing* Daniel told me he thought I got the award. I told him I figured he got it with his family being there. Even my table thought I got the award. After all the awards were given out, I hung a bit to talk to a few people. It was then that my Ethics professor told me she had read my paper. She also told me that I was one of the most enjoyable students that she's had.

Well, since I finally have a chance to sleep in for once, I hope I can do it. This morning I tried to do it; I had no luck. I felt like I should be up and out of the house.

Changing Up My Schedule.

I ended up dropping the course I wanted to take in the summer. I realized it was cheaper to take a PE in the fall, instead of the summer. So, instead of taking Water Aerobics, I'm taking Beginning Golf. So why am I taking golf? I ended up dropping my Astronomy class to take the golf. Water Aerobics conflicted with the class I wanted to take in lieu of Astronomy: Intro to Digital Photography. That class seems to be a good one for an amateur photography like me. All in all, these moves are going to save me $363.00 from my dad's pocket.

Someone Please Tell Mother Nature It's April.

AASU Wesley

That means in the South, we want 70-85° weather. Not the current 51° weather with winds of 14MPH!

Well, the Atlanta Braves game last night did get rained out. *Frown* We waited the whole time. Lindsey, her husband Chris, and I hung out together. We visited the Braves Museum while at Turner Field. We did some shopping at a few of the stores. We had dinner at the ballpark. Lindsey and I held off a trip to the restroom, fearing that when we did, the game would be called due to weather. Finally, when we broke down, as we were in there, the game was called. It was cold and wet. Chris, Lindsey, and I are planning on a trip in July to see the Braves play the St. Louis Cardinals. Chris, as a Georgia Tech student, can get a discount at the GT hotel. The 3 of bonded this weekend mainly discussing what annoyed us on the trip. I didn't realize what the 3 of us had in common! Of course, they are married, so they better had a bunch in common.

We stayed at Georgia Tech's Wesley Foundation place. We made ourselves at home. Some brought beds and those that didn't have beds had couchs to sleep on. I slept on a couch. It was comfy. *Smile* We also had Internet access and TV. I stayed up late getting my photos from yesterday uploaded. This picture is from after service this morning. The GT people wanted our picture for their records.

After we got into Atlanta, we went straight to the King Center and looked around. We saw Dr. and Mrs. King's graves, as well at the original Ebenezer church Dr. King preached in. We also saw the first integrated firehouse and got a look outside of his home. The tours into the home were booked for the day. I learned many things at the Center. I didn't know Dr. King won a Grammy posthumously. His Grammy was on displace at the Center.

We were going to the game the Braves played today, but decided against it. We felt it was too cold. And it's April 15th, too! (Happy Birthday Nicki!) From the people that Chris spoke to and my dad, sounds like hardly anyone went to today's game in Atlanta. Melissa is going to exchange our tickets for a game in September. That leaves the Mets, the Nationals, and the Brewers to see then. We could also see the Rockies in August. It's mainly wait and see.

This week will be a busy week for me. I have to finish the Ethics paper for Wednesday, in addition to a school ceremony. I have the banquet and the ODK thing on Thursday. Saturday is the School of Computer Quiz Bowl. So much to do!
