IJAC's Totaled!

Sea Pony
Uploaded by peachy92.

I'm not certain if IJAC, my car, is totaled. However, IJAC isn't looking good. About 6:35 PM tonight, Nicki and I were in a car accident. We're at home now. I won't get into details about it, other than I fear my car is totaled. We did see the doctor. I rode in ambulance as a result, for precautionary's sake. I happened to have my camera with me, as we were going to go see the live Nativity scene again. I was going to take pictures of it. Instead, I have pictures of the accident scene and vehicles. I called my insurance company as soon as I got home. Now, it's wait and see about what's next. If my car is totaled, I'm going to miss it. I loved my car. It was perfect for me. I can't afford a new car at the moment.

At least this isn't my mother dying! Thankfully, angels, like my mother, were with us. And while I did cry about it in the hospital and in the car before I was moved, I mainly cracked jokes about various things.

I did take my car out this afternoon and went out to the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography. Out there, the University of Georgia has its Marine Education Center & Aquarium. It's a nice place to get lost for a while. I felt like a Junior Girl Scout while out there. Besides the exhibits, there is a nature trail. They need volunteers, so maybe this summer I'll help out. I still plan on working the Mysterious Santa Project.

The car accident was the big thing for the day. I so wished I could have told the should-have-happened story of Nicki and me having a small night on the town.

"It Must Have Been A Part Of Some Great Design / Guess It's Christmas Time"

Christmas at the Roddenberry's
Uploaded by peachy92.

This is the house of the Roddenberry's. Ever since I can remember, in my time living in Savannah, their house has always been decked out like this. Traffic backs up on Windsor Road as a result of their display. And everyone knows this house. *Santa Smile* 2 years ago, I was spending time with He Who Shall Not Be Named, just before Christmas. We had time to kill, so we decided to look at Christmas lights. We both joked about going to see the Roddenberry home as part of the light tour. *Laughing* Christmas is not complete in this town for me without a stop to see this display.

In addition to stopping here, Matthew, who was driving, and I stopped at the drive-by nativity scene presented by White Bluff United Methodist Church. It's on tonight and tomorrow. I took a few pictures of that, too. I'll have to return tomorrow to take some more. *Santa Smile*

Matthew was driving because I couldn't see. I lost my last contact last night. I didn't notice until this morning. *Sigh* Besides, I needed a new eye appointment. Haven't had one in over 2½ years. I got a new prescription to fill and a pair to tide me over until I can get some contacts. My eyes are the same now, so that should save me some money. I also had a glaucoma test. I couldn't see in front of me because of the test. I could drive home, but Matthew did the rest. We stopped at his job to do a few things. His co-workers could see that I had the test. One co-worker thanked Matthew for driving me. *Laughing* I don't think I would have been off if he wasn't home.

Oh, and one last thing! I've got another free download to share. I got this info from my Amy Grant newsletter this morning. Check out MyFreeMusicFriday.com. This week, they are giving away Amy's "God Is With Us," as long with a song from Leigh Nash, Cindy Morgan, Michael Olson, and Christy Nockels. It's nice to see artists embracing the Internet to share the music. I've gotten a whole album of Christmas music free this year this way.

The Thursday Threesome: Holly Jolly Christmas

The Family Christmas Tree
Uploaded by peachy92.

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Holly-- Hmmm... Do you have holly where you are? Is it used for decorating? ...and if not, what types of greenery are used to show off the season? Inquiring minds and all that... No, no holly here. When we had a house in Augusta, there was a holly tree in the very back of our back yard. We also had ton of pine trees in our yard. So, for Christmas, we would take the biggest pine cone we could find and glue holly berries to the cone. Ah, Augusta was a simple time. *Smile*

Twosome: Jolly-- Jolly Elf or The Grinch? How is your Christmas experience going so far? Christmas is fine this year. Which reminds me, I need to call and sign up for the Mysterious Santa Project. If you live in Savannah and plan to be in town on Christmas, I suggest you should do it. I've done it twice before, and it means a lot of those you visit. And this picture is of our Christmas tree. *Santa Smile*

Threesome: Christmas-- Hey, I miss ol' Burl Ives singing the song in this header: who does your favorite Christmas song? ...and which song is that? Yes, yes, you're allowed more than one <g>... It's a toss up of the 3: "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, "Last Christmas" by Wham!, and "My Only Wish (This Year)" by Britney Spears. "Last Christmas" contains the line "My God I thought you were someone to rely on / Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on." Rings true of how I look at a part of my life from a couple of years ago. And if you're looking into some free Christmas music, I've got some for you. iTunes is giving away "Silent Night" by Sarah McLachlan and Rhapsody & Best Buy have a whole album of free Christmas music by arts like Train and Keith Urban.

In other news, I made a C in Calc. *Banging My Head Against The Wall* This may prevent me from going for Honors on my degree. I'm not sure what to do. I'll talk to my advisers after the break. However, I did get an A in Film History. It's got me thinking of going to Curse of the Golden Flower when it comes out. I got an (easy) A in my Special Topics class. All I'm waiting on is my grade for Client/Server.

I'm On Winter Break.

*Smile* I had my Calc exam today. I don't know how I did on it, but I gave it my all. We got some extra time on it after the Criminal Justice class next door disturbed our class with their videos. *Shake Head* I hope I did well enough to get me a B in that class over all. *Smile* Overall, I have done much better this year than last year. Even with the D last year, I wasn't a quiter in Calculus, like I've been with Visual Basic (the first time), Latin American History, and PHP. I hate the fact I quit those classes, but I did what I had to do to stay sane. *Laughing*

To reward myself for getting through this semester, I stoped at Wolf Camera and bought 3 camera filters. I got the Spot, the Neutral Density, and the Cross Screen. They were buy 2 get 1 free. I got the Spot for free. At the moment, I don't like it. Nicki thinks it's cool I've goten these filters. She likes to use my camera. The next filters I should get are the Fogmaker, the 80A, and the FLD.

The Other Night…

Harri in the Christmas Tree
Uploaded by peachy92.

I saw the shuttle launch. I don't mean I watched it on TV. I went out in the cold and saw it launch. It was a small speck in the sky. It looked like a star. However, instead of having horizontal motion, it was the only thing in the sky I saw with vertical motion. The star developed a tail when the boosters were deployed. My dad was jealous of me. He was stuck at work during the launch, so he couldn't see it with the naked eye. Maybe next time. Some people couldn't believe I saw it from Savannah. I only live about 300 miles from the launch site. It wasn't hard to see it in a clear sky at night.

Well, I am almost finished with this semester. I have my Calc final tomorrow. We had an optional review session today. I made sure I attended it. Only 5 of us showed up. I think it will do me well. We did nearly one of all the types of problems that will be on the test. I probably asked for the most examples, but the others didn't mind. They didn't have many examples ready, like I did. *Laughing* I need a B on the exam tomorrow. I need a B in that class. I am proud that I have improved 100% in Calc this second time around.

I got my Film papers in today, as well. I went to school prior to the review session to type up the last of my essays. They had to be short and I had to have 4 of them. None of them went over 4 pages. I got back the book critique I wrote last Sunday. I got a B+ on it. *Laughing* I might have gotten an A had I spent more time discussing Silent Street a bit more in terms of the Production Code. That was noted as the paper's flaw. Still,my professor liked the fact I watched the movie for the sake of the paper. I just need at least a B in the class.

So, what's my class schedule for the spring? Yes, at least someone out there is interested in it. Why? Beats me! Anyway, it is as follows:

     Mondays & Wednesdays:

     Senior Project 3:30-4:20 PM
     Computer Ethics 4:30-5:45 PM

     Tuesdays & Thursdays:

     Introduction To Theatre 4:30-5:45 PM
     Graphics Design 6:00-7:15 PM

The theater class will be taught by one of the theater teachers from Savannah Arts. My brother had this professor when he attended high school. Looks like I may get the treat my younger siblings got through out their school careers: "Are you Matthew's sister?"

And finally, this picture of Harri is from about 1 this morning. I was going to bed and caught her in the Christmas tree. Before taking her out of the tree, I had to grab my camera and take some shots. My dad requested this shot for a copy to place in his toolbox. He loves this cat.
