About 2 this afternoon, I decided to take my camera and go out to Bonaventure. I spent over an hour out there, mainly walking the grounds and taking pictures. It's quite scenic with all the oak tress, Spanish moss, different types of headstones, and it being set upon the Wilmington River.
After the trip to Bonaventure, I decided to go downtown to take some shots. I was going to park on River St., but I forgot it was the first Saturday of December. The annual Savannah Christmas Parade was today! It used to be in the morning, but they've moved it to night. So, I walked around Factors Walk and River Street until the paradce began. I took some photos while down there. This year's Grand Marshall was Savannah's dear Paula Deen. I haven't mastered objects moving in the dark, so my pictures are crappy. My dad liked them because he found the effects of the lights in the photo to be cool. He guesses I need a camera with a faster shutter speed. Maybe one day. I was alone today, but it was fun to participate in the city's welcoming of Christmas.
As for this picture, these are the guys are Shriners from Alee Temple. The guys were more than willing to pose for this shot. After it, they gave me some pirate tattoos. ![]()
This picture is from last night. I went over to Melissa's house again last night with some other Wesley students. After the dinner, we played Taboo. Here I am stuck on a word. However, my first attempt was a good run. I was able to pass on to my team 6 words without getting buzzed.
Prior to dinner, I had an errand to do. It was to pay my car tag. That was a drag. The tag office has 19 window. Only about 5 were open. There must have been 30 people at one point in line. Most of these people had tag renewals, like me. We had to wait in line between characters like the man who lost his tag and the woman trying to get a new tag for a new car, but couldn't because her husband and car dealer sign the wrong paperwork.
I think it was ridiculous the amount of time I had to wait. Bureaucracies and Wal-Mart are weird like this. What's the point of 19 lines, if you never have most of them open? Personally, if I ran the tag office, I would have open 2 lines. One line for renewals and the other line for other business. Then, based on the number of people in the two lines, assign the window workers to different types of lines. Yes, I'm a quickly-get-in-and-out person. I hate waiting in line when what I have to do is short and simple.
After that encounter at the tag office, I headed over to Armstrong. I met Bobby at first, and we went over our group project. He makes me feel dumb. However, our project will be ready Tuesday when we turn it in. After that, I went to the ACM TDC meeting. We finally have something ready to be uploaded to our server. Aric got the template going. The 2 of us sat down and fixed the minor error the text was giving us in the template. Once we got that done, I came home and threw together an about page and registration form. Now, to get the semester over for me to help some more.
And finally, if you're in the Savannah area or want to make a trip to Savannah, may I suggest the Un-conference ‘07? It's a blogging conference that will be held January 25-27. I'm mainly going because it sounds fun, and it's a way for me to network in the IT field in my area.

That song popped in my head today when I check to see how many people are registered in Graphics Design next semester. It was one I like a lot when I was about 5. There are 21 people in that class!
I know of at least 5 of these people.
Today was double test day.
I had a Calc test and a Client/Server test. I hope I got an A on the C/S test, so I can skip the final. I need my birthday for myself. I hope I did better than a 74 on the Calc exam. Anything better than a 74 today and on my final gives me a B in that class. After last year's Calc fiasco, I'll take it! I'm one essay short of finishing the book for my Film class paper due the 6th. The C/S project is due the 5th, as is my Calc paper. One more Film paper due the 11th and Calc final on the 12th, and then I'm finished for the semester. I feel better today than I did a few days ago over all this school stress.
Finally, for today, Thursday Threesome:
Onesome: Sweet-- or sour? What type of sauces do you like on your dishes when you 'do Chinese'? Last time I had Chinese, it was sesame chicken on fried rice. Next time I have Chinese, I'll get plain white rice. I didn't like the fried rice.
Twosome: Baby-- back ribs? ...or steak? Tofu? Chicken? It's your choice; what would you like for your next meal "out"? Tomorrow, I will be having dinner with my Wesley friends. I hope it the same as last time.
Threesome: James-- town flood? What do flood your mashed potatoes with, gravy or butter? ...or do you like them plain? I'm not into mashed potatoes. However, I'd probably be a butter person.

That means light blogging, too. After getting home from school, I'm just tired, and right now, blogging feels like a chore. I've got school work I need to do. I read half my Film class book for the book report today. I need to finish that ASAP!
In Film class, we watched Boys Don't Cry, which is about Brandon Teena. I can see why Hilary Swank won an Oscar. Also, I didn't want to strangle Lecy Goranson, like I did when Roseanne was on the air. It was the last film we watched in class. I might take another Film class for my last 3000 elective next fall. I remember my mother reading a true crime book about Brandon's life.
My mother loved true crime books. At one poitn during her love of this genre, we told her it scared us. She stopped reading them, but she then started to watch forensic shows. Because of her book reading, she knew what happened in half the shows she watched. And know I know why I like Skeleton Stories. ![]()
Before class, I stopped at Best Buy and got Superman Returns on DVD. I also picked up a 1GB card for my digital camera. There's a rebate for that that I need to send in.
My exciting life. How grand!

Almost. I'm so brain fried, it's not funny. It will be all over come the 12th at 3:30PM
Before I left school today, I heard on the news that Monday, the 27th is becoming the new Friday the 13th. I can believe it. On my way to school, I almost hit a telephone pole.
Thankfully, God and my mother were with me, and I swerved just before impact. And once I got to school, I had to do part of an assignment twice, since when I rebooted a school computer, it erased everything!
At least I remembered what I did and could fix it up in an hour what had taken me 2 hours to do the first time. Yeah, bad day.
In film class, we discussed last week's movie, Raise the Red Lantern. It was a good film. What I took from it is that women can be so vicious when competing for a man's affection. Each wife showed a different side of the competitive woman. Some don't bother. Some hide their wickedness under kindness. Some have to fight for affection. Others are strong and do what they want. Even those these were Chinese women, the same can be applied to Western culture. The movie can also be seen as an allegory to the Chinese government. I enjoyed the movie. Now to get off my ass and read this book for my paper due next week. Tomorrow, it will be read.
Thankfully, my morning class was cancelled, so I get a few more minutes at home. I still have my later classes.
Part one of my Client/Server project is due today. I'll have to get with my group and tidy it up. Thankfully, the class genius, which isn't me, is in my group. I think we'd be lost without him.
