Scooter Had A Nightmare Last Night!

Otters
Uploaded by peachy92.

The first thing I did when I got home last night was want to hug Scooter. I love that cat. Some girls have human boyfriends. At this stage in my life, I have a small, orange boyfriend. *Laughing* However, when we entered the house, he didn't come to his name. Immediately, my father and I looked at all his hiding spots. I darn near had a panic attack about losing him.

You see, it was my mother that adopted Scooter. She really wanted an orange cat. When one of Matthew's friend said she found an orange kitten, my mother adopted him site unseen. She really loved Scooter, but the whole family noticed he liked me the most. Because of the connection with my mother, he's dear to me.

I found Scooter when I opened the front door. He ran straight to me. He's not an outdoor cat, so he's mostly scared of the outside. First thing he did was eat like he hadn't eaten for days. No one knows how long he was outside. Since we got home after 8, and my siblings estimated he escaped around 2 that afternoon, he was alone, outside, for 6 hours! My poor baby!

Later last night, he was on my bed, curled next to me. As he was sleeping, he started meowing. He doesn't normally meow in his sleep. All I could assume is he had a nightmare. I started petting him as soon as I could to let him know he's back in the house with me.

As for the otters? The only thing they have to do with Scooter is my dad was calling them water cats. They are of the weasel family. However, they made us miss our cats.

It's A Long Way Between Chattanooga and Savannah.

Family Photo #1
Uploaded by peachy92.

My father and I went to Chattanooga, TN for Thanksgiving. My siblings couldn't go because they had to work today. One of my father's uncles lives in Chattanooga. The rest of my father's family on his mother's side live all over Tennessee. We're the odd ones out living in Georgia. This Thanksgiving was going to be a hard one for all of us. We figured my father should spend a couple of hours with his family. In a way, this side of the family is the only side of the family I'm closest to of all the family I have. So Wednesday night, we drove up to Chattanooga, and stayed 2 days there at a hotel. We came home tonight.

Thanksgiving was interesting. Most of my family members there were my dad's aunts and uncles, his cousins, and my second cousins many years younger than me. I think I have 3 second cousins about my age. Only one, Jessica, came to the dinner. I spoke to her a bit. However, all my second cousins know each other well, so I was the oddball out. I have no clue how many second cousins I do have. I did find out one of the girls is a University of Tennessee cheerleader. And then family laugh when I explained the only thing I remember for my Tech orientation is "To hell with Georgia!" My first cousin, Melissa, and my uncle Rusty showed up, so we weren't the only Lattas at the dinner. I mainly hung out with my dad, Melissa, and Rusty. They were the ones I felt most comfortable with. Sadly, this is what happens when you don't live near extended family.

However, I think I did find a senior project! One of my dad's cousins makes and sells soap. She wants a website for her business. I need to develop an E-Commerce website. Even though we live over 500 miles apart, I could do the site. That's such a relief! I also ended up being the family photographer this year. Nearly everyone had a digital camera, but no one was going to take the group family photo. That's what's pictured here. Just as one of my dad's uncle and his wife were about to leave, I told my father I wanted a picture of him with his aunts and uncles. Next thing I know, Uncle Tommy, the host, asks if my camera could take a tripod. Since I could place it on a tripod, the family decides to take a group photo, like what's been done in years past. They didn't have one last year. So the whole family goes outside and we line up for a photo. I was the last one to get into the photo since I had to set the camera up and turn on the self timer. I don't have e-mail address for everyone, but those I do have got a copy of the 2 family photos and a link to my Flickr set of Thankgiving 2006 photos.

Before we left Chattanooga today, my father and I went to the Tennessee Aquarium. We were up there, why not go? Again, I took plenty of photos of adventure. I think we both liked the otters the most. My dad got a big otter at the gift shop, and I got a small one. We also got the pictures taken of us at the front of the aquarium. I got my siblings each a stuffed animal. I got Matthew, the one that would have liked to gone to the Aquarium, a shark and a turtle. My sisters get a brightly colored sting ray and a macaw.

Well, that's it for now. Sorry, I'm crying now. I can't help it at the moment. I miss my mother.

School's Out For The Week.

*Smile* The only class I really had today was Calc class. Client/Server was optional. My group opted out. We met earlier in the day and discussed what we had to discuss with the professor. It was then he told us about class. He was holding class for those that have questions on the project. Since we got ours out of the way before class, we all went home early. However, we worked a bit on the project's design before going home. Once I got home, I worked quite a bit on the project. I didn't finish, but I worked quite a bit.

I got my Client/Server test back as well. I got a 90 on it. Not bad, considering I was sick as I took it. My body was taking the test, but my mind was wanting to be in bed. *Laughing*

Tomorrow will be spent getting ready for Thanksgiving. I probably won't post during until Friday, save a Happy Thanksgiving post. However, when I have a chance, I'll add photos to my Flickr account or moblog.

I Need To Get Off My Ass And Get To Work.

I've got about 2 weeks left for this semester. I need to get off my ass and work on the work I have due. I have a book report due the 6th for film class. I've read about 30 pages of the book. I've got 2 movies I need to watch for the class, too. I have a Calc problem I need to write up and solve. Have no clue what to do. I'll get something done. I did do a little work on my group project. I developed a login screen and a sign-up screen. I'm holding off on the rest of the design until my group talks with the professor tomorrow.

Looks as if I'm not going to get to go to my Omicron Delta Kappa initation ceremony. *Frown* One that day, I have 2 exams. The ceremony is at 5. My exams are at 1 and 6. *Frown* Something has to give.

I know it will all work out in the end. I'll get the work done. Besides, Thanksgiving is Thuursday, and I need to worry about that. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, but that's okay.

Off to shower.
