I've taken another day off. So, here's the other video from yesterday:
Update: No pictures, but I believe that this WSVN story is about our preacher.
This is video I snapped with my camera today. The Preacher has spent all week on campus in the free speech zone. I also have some pictures up documenting what I saw in my Armstrong Flickr Set. From what I hear, he told the president of the Baptist Student Union, one of the girls that found $30,000.00 in a house she was cleaning as part of Katrina relief, that she was going to hell. I'm not sure what to think. Tomorrow is his last day at school and then he's moving onto Savannah State. His presence on campus has been the big story this week. Some people have mocked him. As he was posing for my camera today, some chick put her middle finger in front of his face. In another picture, the girl mock licks the Bible. Others passed around flyers denoucing him. Some have debated him, both civilly and hostile.
After classes, I saw the school's production of William Inge's Picnic. It was an good play. it was nice to do something different from coming home and watching TV. Not many people showed up for tonight's production. It's mainly about Hal and Madge coming together, but I think it's Millie that's the main character. You find out more about her personality than you do her sister's. Saturday is the last day that the school will be performing it.

Onesome: Fall-- (ing) into "The Decorating Season"? How about it: do you have your Halloween Tree up and decorated yet? ...or maybe just a plastic pumpkin sitting on the table <g>? ...something in between? Inquiring minds and all that... No decorations up. I think I'm going to celebrate Halloween this year by going to the walk out on Oatland Island.
Twosome: Harvest-- time? What crops are grown in your area (call it fifty miles) that are coming out of the fields this Fall? I have no clue. I think cotton.
Threesome: Festival-- Do you have a County Fair or Harvest Fest happening in Autumn? ...or do you wait until the sap flows? The Coastal Empire Fair is at the end of this month. I don't know if I'll go this month.
Yesterday was a day off. I really needed it. I did go to my Film class, but I skipped PHP. I'm dropping, so I figured I could use the time to rest. Fall Break is next week, but I needed a refresher NOW. I think it did me well.
Okay, off to get ready for school. After classes, I'm going to tonight's play at school.

I am burned out. Thankfully, Fall Break is next week. I didn't get to drop PHP because the professor, again, wasn't there today.
I mentioned to my Special Topics class I was dropping it, and Robert said something that pissed me off. "The Great Shawn Latta dropping a course?"
I don't know if that was meant as a compliment, but I took it as an insult. I might have good grades, but I work for them. People may think I'm spoiled. I know I am. However, I have worked hard and gone through a lot of emotional hell to get to the point I am today. I've got the right to admit that I've overextended myself.
The picture shows the attraction of the day on campus. This "preacher" man comes on campus to tell all the students we're going to hell and that he's a holy one. He tells us what's required to be saved. I listened to his stuff a bit after Calc class. Personally, I think he has a screw or two loose. He's getting a high off the students that yell at him and debate him. I wish the others would learn to ignore him. He can spout all his Christian rhetoric all he wants. He claims he lives this life. But, I wondered does he really understand. Seems he told the Catholics their going to hell. He told my Muslim classmate from Calc he's going to hell. Seems everyone's going to hell in his life. He makes all Christians look like nut jobs.
We're not. My mother had a philosophy. "They will know we are Christians by our ways." She felt that it was better to do Christian acts in addition to saying you're a Christian. In fact, she wouldn't do stuff and claim she was doing it because she's a Christian. She would do stuff because she lived by Christian ideals. She felt action said more than words. I think the same as her. I help others because it's the right thing to do, not because I'll get glory from it. Maybe this preacher man could have spent his time helping others in need instead of berating college students for the lives they lead.
This reminds me of a picture I drew in Wesley last week. We were to draw how we saw God. My picture was of the old man version. One side of his face had a frown. Another side had a smile. His hand were held out to hug. The meaning behind the respresentation was that we're do sin. However, God and Jesus do frown upon us but still loves us. The hug and the smile shows that he loves us.
I think if this guy attacked my character, I'd have to tell him off. He doesn't know us. He was judging us. Therefore, wasn't he violated God's rules by judging us?
I found out how I did on my tests from Thursday. I got an 80 on the Calc test. My average in that class is an 87. I got a 97.5 on my Client/Server test. At least no one made fun of my grade on that. Poor Bobby got stuck with that. However, we all know Bobby's the smartest of us all.
After school, I stopped by Wal-Mart and got The Little Mermaid and Lady and the Tramp. Beth grew up with The Little Mermaid. She was about a year and a half when it came out. I got her the deluxe addition with a CD of songs from and inspired from the movie. Was she excited about that! I didn't know if had Lady and the Tramp, so I got a copy just in case. Figured we should have it with all the other Disney movies we have. ![]()
Oh, my Savannah Flickr Set is up!

I have a lot of pictures from today, but I can't upload them all. Flickr's having some issues. I have most of today's pictures from campus up, but not from my trip downtown. I spent about an hour downtown today walking around and taking a few shots. I hope to have those shots up later tonight when I get home.
This weekend was one I took easy. I worked on my 11 page paper that's due today. Personally, I think it's a piece of crap. However, the last piece of crap paper I turned into this professor got a B. I know for sure my paper answered the question in how American and European filmmakers differed and were the same in film's early days. ![]()
My UNIX class was cancelled today, so I didn't get to drop the class.
I'll have to work on that tomorrow. Sometimes, it's not quitting. It's realizing you've overextended yourself and need to step back. That's my reasoning for dropping this class. Plus, it's an elective. It's not required for my major. i want to learn, but I need to slow down.
This morning, before Wesley lunch, I toured the Fine Arts building and took some photos. A faculty art exhibit was on display. As I was there, I ran into Hai. I went ahead and got a ticket for Thursday's night play here on campus. It is a production of Picnic. I also took some photos from Wesley lunch.
Tonight's film class will be devoted to watching Rome Open City by Roberto Rossellini, who's better know to me as Isabella's dad.
