itTunes now has some Richard Marx videos on it. Currently, there are only 3: "Right Here Waiting," "Now and Forever," and "Hazard." I bought "Hazard." it was my second listen of "Hazard" that I became a Richard Marx fan. At first, I was obessed with the song. Then, it grew into his music. And the rest became history. I've seen him live 6 times, with the farest concert being in Ledyard, CT and the closest concert being Macon, GA. Now if he would come to Hilton Head! I would be there ASAP. I've also met him four times.
It's such a shame I look awful in the photos! Everytime I met him, I wore glasses. I don't look good in them and when my picture was snapped, I was blind! I think the best photo I have with Richard is a group shot from 2000 in Nashville. I'm in the purple just above his left shoulder.
Here's a funny story I forgot to mention yesterday. Two people thought I worked at the Writing Center yesterday. I haven't worked there in over a year. I just went in to use the stapler. The girl on the computer next to the stapler asked me how to log onto WebCT. I tried helping her, but we had no luck. As I was helping her, another girl approached me to help with the printer. I fixed the jam in it. It seems like whenever I go in there, I get asked to help someone. I guess the way I carry myself in the Center makes people believe I work there.

Isn't John just a cutie?
I love his music. I went ahead and pre-ordered his new album on iTunes. Because of that, I get a bonus track that won't be available after release.
Last night, I did take a sneak peak listen to a few songs off the new album, Continuum. Clear Channel has a preview. I liked the songs "I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)" and "I'm Gonna Find Another You." I had to listen to them based on the titles alone. ![]()
I bought the iTunes card to pay for it at Target this morning. I got the limited edition card with Wildflower, by Sheryl Crow, cover are as the card art. I picked up a few other things at Target, like socks and a few goodies for my lab at school. The lab is so bland. I'm trying to bring it to life. Also while I was a Target, I stopped at the snack bar and got a Honey Barbecue Chicken Personal Pan Pizza. It was quite good. It was loaded with chicken on it. As I was eating it, I didn't feel as if I eating pizza. ![]()
Yesterday, I got called a baby.
By who? A 34-year-old IT student. The guy and Vanessa were talking about the '80s. They were doing an '80s Lyrics Quiz. I got a few for them. They went blank at ____ ____ sleeping in your bed. I knew it was the invisible man that sleeps in your bed.
Today, I got myself over to 129 and got Visual Studio on disc. I needed a new copy. At the moment, I'm installing it on my laptop. It's taking a while to install it. However, I'll be able to do my Client/Server work from home.

Today, I had Calculus. It's on the other side of the campus from Gamble Hall, home of my IT classes. A monsoon started as class was ending. I had to walk across campus in the monsoon. Walking in the rain isn't a problem, when I have an umbrella. I have one on me. It didn't stop me from being soaked. My way over here had a stop in the bookstore to by a shirt, some shorts, and a pair of socks. As soon as I got into Gamble Hall, I had to change from my soaked jeans, shirt, shoes, and socks into my new outfit. I look like a slob. However, I'm not wet! My boss from the Writing Center saw I was wearing only socks because of how soaked my shoes are. Half the sidewalks are lakes.
You've got to love Savannah!
At least I made a 10 on my Calculus quiz. ![]()
Onesome: Name-- Ah, what about names? How did your blog name come to be? Is there a story there? I got my domain, for free, at the spur of the moment. And what address did I get? My first and middle name. I've had it for six years now. It's kind of hard for me to change it now.
Twosome: that-- and this. We've all thought about a change of locations from time to time: is there any place you'd like to try living for a while? (You can go back home when you're done with the tryout <g>.) There's a lot of places that could answer this question. I'd love to try living in Atlanta, or Nashville, or Seattle, or even Pittsburgh. My dad said when I get out of college, he wants me to get a great job, even if it's out of Savannah. If I move, the city has to be in a day's trip, by car, from Savannah. I need to be close to my dad.
Threesome: Tune-- us into what you're listening to lately. ...anything on your radar we should be aware of? This past week, I've had some '80s pop on my mind; specifically, I have been listening to some Taylor Dayne tunes. Last night, I browsed iTunes. I need to get an iTunes card today. The new John Mayer album has an extra track if you pre-order it from them.
It's only $9.99. I can get it on hard copy in a few months in the used section of Amazon.

At noon today, there was an Honors Program meeting. I decided to go. I don't think I'll be too active in in the program. Most of the students in the program are Matthew and Beth's ages. There are a few events that look good to me. One will be about what your clothes say about you. That one will be presented by one my Oceanography professor's wife. The other interesting event is about résumés. That will be given by my Business English professor.
UNIX class was okay. We went over the GREP command. Our first homework assignment was given to us. It's due Friday. I spent most of my free time today working on it. We've got a spare computer in the IIR lab. Tomorrow, I'm going to see about installing Ubuntu on it. There are several Linux based web robots out there. Our main server is Windows Server 2003 based. I think for the project, it would be beneficial to have a Linux box. Plus, it will help me in UNIX. ![]()
I did leave campus for a bit to go to Target. I needed some blank CDs. I need to get another copy of VB.net for my computer. I loss the license for it, plus I was nice and gave someone else the discs, so they would save money in discs for getting it for their computer.
I'll be needing it for my Client/Server class.
FIlm class was just a discussion on the films we watched Monday. As I was leaving campus, I saw my brother's truck. He's developed a strong social life now that he can drive. The Anime Club at school was showing the Naruto movie tonight. As soon as I saw the sign for it, I figured he want to go. I just didn't have a chance to tell him. Oh, and he's not coming home tonight. He wasn't home last night, either. He'll be at Jessica's again. For two kids that aren't girlfriend and boyfriend, they sure spend a lot of time together. My father remarked tonight it kind of bugs him. I say just let them be.
I figured after this semesters, I'm 7 classes shy of graduation. I'll need one more PE, Graphic Design, 2 semesters of Senior Project, and E-Commerce. I can't believe how close I am in getting out.
After that, it's seeing if I can get a job and survive again in the real world.

Okay, I'm back into the grind of school. I have 3 classes today. i've been to 2. Special Topics was nothing but us updating the laptops the professor has for other classes. Imagine 19 laptops and 6 people updating them. We just updated Firefox, Windows XP, and McAfee.
My Calculus class was fine. We spent today doing average velocity and secant lines. We also worked on the velocity project I thought we would do Thursday. After spending some time in the IT lounge working on my Calculus homework, I went to Arby's and had some lunch. ![]()
While I was in the IT lounge, Renee was in here. We stared talking about the girl next door. We both agree were rather be the girl next door (getting out IT degrees) than to be the local skank. Okay, so we didn't say it that way. We just felt it's best to leave something to the imagination.
It was during this discussion that I remarked I'm not the girl to date for fun. I'm the type of girl you take home to your mother and marry.
Lately, I've been listening to '80s pop. One song I have on at the moment it Richard Marx's "If You Don't Want My Love." When I get out of school, and get ready to be in the couples track, this song it going to be my philosophy about love. Don't want me? Let me go. Don't think it's cool to keep me hanging on. It's all or nothing. Basically, be honest! Tell me from the get go. I don't think that's too much to ask. It's a shame that Fee Waybill, not Richard, worte the lyrics. You don't want me? There's someone else that will. I think that's the line I like best. It goes along the lines of something my mother tried to tell me growing up.
I know you have reservations
And you're just along for the ride
But I see a slight hesitation
What are you trying to hide?Don't be afraid to bare your soul
Nothing you say could be too bold
I'm growing oldIf you don't want my love
Tell me now 'cause I’ll survive
If you don't want my love
I'm sure that somebody does tonightYou make a grown man quiver
It might be hard to believe
But it's time to stand and deliver
You've just been playing with meI don't want to blow my only chance
But you've got to show me where you stand
Or drop my handIf you don't want my love
Tell me know 'cause I'll survive
If you don't want my love
It won't be the end of my lifeIf you don't want my love
Night will fall and the sun will rise
If you don't want my love
I'm sure that somebody does tonightI don't want to blow my only chance
But you've got to show me where you stand
Or drop my handIf you don't want my love
Tell me now 'cause I'll survive
If you don't want my love
It won't be the end of my lifeIf you don't want my love
Night will fall and sun will rise
If you don't want my love
I'm sure that somebody does tonightIf you don't want my love
Ain't gonna worry tonight
If you don't want my love
Well somebody does tonight

This morning, I had to go to the Landings, a gated community in Savannah located on Skidaway Island. I was out there picking up Beth's boyfriend to take to school. He doesn't attend Armstrong, but he does work there. I knew for a while that there was a road named Captain Kirk Lane on the island, but being that I have no way of entering the community, there was no way I could have seen it. Ben, the boyfriend, lives a few streets up the road from Captain Kirk Lane. I made him take this picture.
Because I had to pick up Ben, I got to the Wesley lunch 20 minutes late. It was a good lunch. We had Chick-Fil-A and chips for lunch. And imagine my surprise to see my brother there! I've invited him for a while to come, but he never takes up the offer. Today, he did. I was glad to see him come.
UNIX/PHP class was fine. We mainly went over permissions and the chmod command. Being that I've installed a few scripts on my server, I understand the command, but I don't know to do it on a shell. The professor wanted to force us to learn the hard way first. chmod 755 test.txt is not a hard command. I guess memorizing what the numbers mean is what he meant by hard. After class, I read for my film class and took an hour long nap.
For film class, since it's about the history of film, we watched some ealry slient films. One of the films watched in class was Le Voyage dans la Lune An interesting film, I will say. I think I'm going to enjoy this class. ![]()

Like many people, I grew up with this ad on TV. However, I had never seen a green Tootsie Pop. I've had orange, grape, cherry, chocolate, and raspberry, but never the one the green pop represented.
Until today.
At Wesley lunch, as I was leaving, I grabbed some Tootsie Pops to munch on. In the bag was a light green pop. I thought it was a Blow Pop in there by mistake. Nope, it was the ever-elusive green Tootsie Pop. It was lemon-lime in flavor. I can't believe I had a green one after 27+ years of living.
More when I get home from class.
