Another Odd Dream

I had a weird dream last night. I only remember a few things from it. One was a Richard Marx concert at a circus. *Crazy* My sister, Nicki, and a friend ended up getting banned from any other Richard Marx concerts. The reason was stupid. I don't know what this means. Another part of me had me in charge of a baby named Sam. He was a cute baby, but he wasn't mine.

This evening, I'm attending an Eagle Scout event. Beth's friend, Lee, is becoming an Eagle Scout. He invited the whole family, but not everyone is going. Beth needs a ride, so I'm taking her. Lee is one of her best friends. They may not spend all their time together, but they're there for each other when the going gets tough.

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!
Uploaded by peachy92.

Today, I went to the school. We had a group meeting for the IT project I work on. It was a long meeting. The professor liked my revamp of the site. I have a bit more to do to it, but it looks nice. We're going to be working with JAVA, so I lugged out my books from JAVA class and stuck them in the lab. I was also able to talk Dr. Zhu into starting the Special Topics class on Tuesday, the 22nd, instead next Thursday. Daniel and I want to work the ACM cookout at the same time. Now, we can. *Smile* After the meeting, I headed over to the CS department to let Chris know I could work the cookout. He wasn't around. However, my Applications professor was there and she wanted to catch up with me.

It is so hot outside. I'll go to the Savannah Sand Gnats if Nicki wants to go. I asked her this morning if she wanted to go. If she doesn't, I'll stay home.

What the hell is happening to the world? This new thwarted terror plan is making me sick. If you don't like a certain group of people, don't kill them. Leave them alone and go. Why must this heads have to kill? Personally, I think the new rules they developed today, as part of this thwarted plan, seems like we're allowing the terrorists to win. No drinks? No cell phones? What's next? We keep trying to prevent these attacks, it seems like we're not living. That why I feel like we're letting them win in trying to stop them. I glad the plan did not go through, however.

And finally, for now, Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Disc--overy channel madness: did you catch the Mythbusters show with the bit about the Mentos and Diet Coke (episode 57)? Have you tried it at home yet? What am I talking about? Psst: it's a fun project with the kids... I've seen videos of the Mentos, but not the Mythbusters one. One video I saw showed some guys set the Mentos off sequenced to music.

Twosome: Golf-- Do you play? Do you watch? Do you care? Even the Opens? Just wondering... If the greens aren't goofy and the balls aren't colored, I don't play it.

Threesome: Season----ing salt? What spices do you routinely use when you're cooking up a little something for yourself? A little tarragon? Cinnamon? White pepper? What perks up a meal for you? Depends on the dish. We have plenty of Italian seasonings, olive oil, lemon pepper, and lemon juice in the house.

Hometown Tourist

The Waving Girl
Uploaded by peachy92.

Today, I spent some time at Laurel Grove Cemetery and parts of Downtown. I didn't get to tour all off downtown. Beth was with me and it was hot. The places I did hit downtown were Colonial Park, Emmitt Park, and The Waving Girl. All these photos can be found in my Savannah Flickr Set . Take a peek into the set and get a glimspe of the town I live in.

Also uploaded is a picture of our dog, Ranger. He's our wild, outdoor dog. For his sake, he's safer outside than inside. The cats treat PupPup as if she's another cat. They know Ranger's a dog. They don't like dogs. He likes outside. I fear he's a kleptomaniac. Hw has brought some weird things home when he roams the neighborhood.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, I'm thinking of testing my new camera out at the baseball game.

At the moment, I have 427 photos in my Flickr account. How many more can I add? *Laughing*

"Hold On To The Memories"

Momma & Daddy
Uploaded by peachy92.

We have some old computers. One is the Gateway we got in 2001. It's in the shed. We haven't used it since it's slow and the monitor doesn't work right in the house anymore. My mother always wanted me to wipe it. I never did it.

I'm glad I procrastinated.

My father set the computer up this afternoon. Even the monitor works! So, I went through it and found some photos. This photo of my parents was one of the found photos. We were celebrating my brother's perfomance in a high school play.

Also found with this photo were my photos from when I visited the Flannery O'Connor home and random cat pictures. I uploaded them so I know where they are.

Not uploaded were some 2-year-old pictures of me. Man, I looked like a mess then. I had really long hair in these photos. As much as I'm trying to get over knowing Mike, the presence he had in my life has made a different. I am not the same girl I was before I met him. I care a lot more about myself, I have more confidence, and I believe in myself. And yes, it's all for the better.

Another Scorcher.

I went back out to school today. In addition to the book return I had to make, Matthew had to do a few things, too. So, we went together. He had to get verification that he's in school. He got a parking decal, as did I, and a new ID card while we were there.

I stopped by the bookstore for the return. I think the manager was grumpy. What's with the grumpy faculty members at my school? I could here her complain about them not taking returns. Oh, but they took mine. I explained what happened. The IT books are so close together, it's easy to confuse them. Then to boot, it doesn't help that the book I did need was not in stock. The mistake book and the Calculus books horde the place the real book I need should take. Made it easy to confuse them. Then, I was asked twice if I had the proper book in hand. No, I didn't. I explained that the NACS books weren't in. I've got 2 other books from the publisher I need. They just made it a bigger hassle than it was, in my eyes.

I'm not going back out to campus until Thursday. i wonder if I can talk the professor in to canceling Special Topic's first day of class so I can hang out at the ACM cookout. *Laughing* I think working the cookout would be better for me at the moment. I'll see Thursday.

And if you can, please keep my friend Tamm and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her mother is terminally ill.

In more "happy news," I got my first greenlight on Fark last night. I was not expecting the link to go green.

I'm going to go. I can't tell if the booming I hear is the band practice at the high school or thunder!

Getting Ready For School.

I went to school today. I stopped at the bookstore. Wouldn't you know it? I bought the wrong book for Client/Server. *Blushing* I can exchange it out for a credit and get the right book when I get the books for UNIX. Those books weren't in yet. I also got the books for Film class. The books for Film are A History of Film by Virginia Wright Wexman and Film Analysis by Jeffery Geiger and R.L. Rutsky. One of Nicki's coworkers is in the class with me. I found that out browsing for the Film books. I'm glad I don't have to buy the books for Calculus nor for Special Topics. *Laughing* That's about $200.00 saved from those classes. Also while I was at school, I bought a book on the Pascal language for $3.00. I may never read it, but it will be nice to add to my computer books library.

Also while I was at school, I put a couple of hours into working on the IIR project I have at school. On my way out, I got some information for my sisters to attend Armstrong. I don't know if Nicki will attend, but Beth probably will in the Spring. She wants to take German classes. And guess what? German is taught at Armstrong. My dad should be glad about that.

When I got home, I found a message on MySpace from an old high school classmate. She wasn't sure if I would remember her, but she remembered me a quiet, but honest person. She was in my 9th grade Geography class. If I had a reputation at school, besides being the quiet, smart, wallflower, it came from that class. After 4 months of nothing happening in that class, except a majority of the students talking and doing nothing, I had had enough and blew up in the class. I called them all losers and stormed out of the class. Another teacher in the Social Studies department, who had a free period that class time, took me into her classroom so I didn't have to stay with the others. It had been known for a while that I was not happy in the Geography class. A few of the kids from that class, including the girl that messaged me, one of the few decent students in the Geography class, were in English with me in 11th grade. By then, those classmates knew to let me be quiet and do my work. All I wanted to do was my class work and get a decent grade.

I'm still a little down about how dark my hair is. *Frown* I'm hoping it will fade to a lighter shade. If it doesn't, I might had to do buy some coloring that will give my hair some red tones. It might look natural to others, but it doesn't look natural to me.

It Was Time For One Color.

I colored my hair today. Well, Beth did the application. However, I felt it was time to get my hair to about one shade of color. I went with Nice 'n Easy 114 Natural Light Ash Brown. I think my hair came out darker than I wanted. However, I have no dark roots anymore! I hope this application will help me transition back to my natural color. I haven't seen it in over a year. I'm sick of getting my hair colored.

Yeah, this isn't the best picture. I have no make up on. I edited out the blemishes. I'm hiding my chin. I have no bra on. Mainly, I'm just enjoying the free day I have.
