I Don't Have Much…

To say today. I guess you can say at this point in my life, that's a good thing. So, instead, I'll just post some eye candy. *Drooling* Feel free to share the candy. *Wink*

The best looking thing in baseball *Yum!*
Eye Candy

Maybe it's the whole jeans and casual shirt look that gets to me?
Eye Candy

And this one was big in my life when I was just a 22-year-old kid. Times have changed. Both are married with kids. One's no longer a Brave and the other may not be a Brave for much longer. I don't find them much to be eye candy now. Oh, but those were simple times. Thought I'd throw this one up for the memories.

Just Another Lazy Day For Me.

I didn't get to sleep until 3. I woke up at 11:30. Yep, I'm being lazy this summer. *Razzing My Tongue*

Tonight, I have another history test.

I've been watching coverage of this Israel/Lebanon conflict. I've been watching Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. I feel for those people in both nations that aren't for conflict and are stuck suffering from the conflict. *Frown* I think both warring sides are wrong. I see both sides of the conflict, but I don't agree with either of them. As a Christian, I just blows my mind that Muslims and Jews can't get along. They have a lot more in common than they are willing to admit. Off the top of my head, they both find pork revolting. They both think Moses is the most important religious figure. They both believe the Messiah has not arrived. Being that I am a Christian, there is a lot about both religions I don't know. Educate me if you must. However, I think it's a shame that they can't learn to embrace one another and their differences. No, they rather participate in the wars of their fathers and not be open to change. Both of them, over there in the Middle East, are stubborn as hell.

I know this will sound stupid, but I've had this thought for years. The Jews, Muslims, and Christians have all fought over the Holy Land for years. Personally, I think no one should live there. Stop all this fighting. Instead, preserve it as a theme park-like environment. Make it a nationless area. All the workers there believe in the best interest of the Holy Land for all religions. If people have to live there, make it secular. No one religion should be given preference over another. Then again, this must be my American-centric view talking again. All I know I'm sick of war. Call me a pacifist, if you must. I've fought plenty of fights in my life. It's just easier to work together and quit fighting than to fight.

Oh, as for this picture of Bill Hemmer? Well, because of all this coverage, he's been on my TV a lot. Most women find Anderson Cooper hot. For me, it's Bill. *Yum!* He's the newsman for me. He's got those boyish looks, but he's not some nubile kid in journalism. He's kind of independent. Oh, did you know he's Catholic?

I don't know what it is, but guys with the brown hair and brown eyes are just attractive. Bill Hemmer. Barry Zito. They are just a few. I think I'm attracted to brown eyes because I don't have them. They are exotic to me. Oh, don't forget the hair. The flowing locks look good to me, too. *Oh Yeah!*

The Thursday Threesome: Cooked to Medium Rare

Not much going on with me at the moment. The only big thing is that I got a computer working for my brother. We traded out his computer with my old Dell I shared with my mother. Tonight, I have a ACM meeting after class. And one other thing: I'm glad to see that Ralph Reed lost the primary! *Smile* Seems I wasn't the only person in the state of Georgia that voted in the Republican primary to make sure he didn't win.

Here you go, the Thursday Threesome:

Onesome: Cooked to?-- Okay, the easy one: if you're having grilled meat (steak/hamburger) this weekend, how would you like it cooked? Not rare but juicy. I usually say well done.

Twosome: Medium-- to large? ...too large? What do you think of the big ol' plasma screen HDTVs available now? I mean, would you if you could? *Laughing* It's not plasma, but my dad has a 43" screen in the living room. I'd get a big TV for my place, if I had a place, but not a plasma TV. i hear they have a short life span.

Threesome: Rare-- Footage: one of the major news services recently announced they would make archived news coverage available for personal purchase on DVD. Is there any one piece/segment/area of old news (or new) you'd like to have on your bookshelf to view "whenever"? I'm not sure what I'd want. Maybe the day of coverage of 9/11. If I have children, I want them to know why I'm the way I am. No documentary can truly capture the horror the day of coverage.

Hot, Sticky, Humid, and Home

It was hot again today. However, growing up in the Southeast US, I'm used to it. If I can make here, I can make anywhere in the US, I guess. However, it's so nice to walk into a cold *Freezing* house and freeze after being out in a hot, humid morning. *Laughing*

Today was productive. I slept in as long as I wanted. Matthew got this license this past Monday. He had to take Beth to school today. I didn't get dressed for today about 3:15. The first thing I did was went over to my old high school and voted. I voted on the Republican ticket for one reason only: Ralph Reed running for Lt. Governor. The man scares me. I fear he'll try to turn the US into a theocracy. I may be of Christian beliefs, but I also believe in freedom of religion. I'm for God in the Pledge and in our money, but not because we're a Christian nation. I'm for the word God because God simply recognizes that we the people, for the most part, believe in a higher power. However, just because I think that, doesn't mean I think religion should play a central part of our government. This isn't Puritan Massachusetts. This is 21st century America. Ralph Reed brings up fears of Puritan Massachusetts to me. Even my Republican father does not want him elected! Besides, look at his record. I can't think of a good thing about him.

After voting, I headed to Target and picked up the latest Train CD. I heard "Cab" for the first time at Taco Bell yesterday. I instantly recognized it as Train. I had the good fortune of seeing them live back in 2004. The Target version came with the bonus track "Coming Home." On my way home from school tonight, I listened to parts of it. I liked "Shelter Me." What got me was the line "Hey, na na na… I'll make it with or without you."

I got told to be quiet in history class today. As usual, it's because I know too much. Someone else was asked not to answer questions, too. The professor asked for a recap on Pickney's Treaty. I placed my straw in my mouth and sucked down water. After no one answered, the professor had me answer what it did.

Okay, Atlanta Braves time.

I Played With Boobies And Testicles Today.

Not real ones. They were fake. And it was for educational purposes in my Ethics class. Since it's about women's health, my professor thought it would be valuable if did a lump examination on a fake breast and fake testicles.

After class, I was sharing the song, "Something to Lose" by Richard Marx with one of my group members. My professor knew we wanted to play a song; she also wanted to know if it was appropriate for the class. I played the song and showed her the "sexucation" line. She wants a copy of the song. Not only that, but she directed me to a CDC educational site with pictures of STDs. She wants me to present a slide show as part of our presentation to the song with pictures of STDs. That should support my stance of for abstinence. *Smile*

As for that test I took Friday, I got a 90. *Sigh* I rather have a 100. In the end, it doesn't matter. So long as I get an A in that history class.

Sometimes, I Think I Was Born Into The Wrong Era.

My mother always jokes about my being born 20-years-old. It that's the case, I'm a 47-year-old in a 27-year-old body with the face of an 18-year-old. I find the older I've gotten, the more I enjoy the style and flair of the '30s and '40s and the music of the '70s. However, I still love my women-can-do attitude of now.

I'm missing my mother at the moment, but I'm not crying. I'm listening to '70s music. *Smile* When I was younger and traveled alone with my parents, they would listen to music I would deem oldies. They would think I was asleep, but I was merely closing my eyes. I would listen to them just talk. That, and I would enjoy the music. It was interesting to listen to them sing and know all the words to songs like "The Night the Lightsd Went Out in Georgia."

Eariler tonight, my father made a remark that I'm a worthless computer tech. I could only agree. I wish I knew how to repair a computer's hardware. There's a lot about computers I wish I knew. People only think I'm smart about computers. *Laughing* My dad said I should go to Savannah Tech for a computer repair course. Again, I agreed. I wish I could put a computer together.

It's A DAMN Shame.

I need to stop going to bed at 3 AM and waking up at 1 PM. However, the topic is not about this.

I'm browsing the web at the moment. I'm working on my abstinence group project. I'm getting ready a handout for the class as part of the presentation. I'm doing a search for safe sex clipart. There is no free safe sex clip art, as far as I could find. *Frown* That's the damn shame. How is any educated person supposed to put together a safe sex presentation for kids and young adults for free if they have to pay $400.00 for the clip art to make the presentation? *EEK!* It's not very encouraging at all. And people wonder why some people don't talk about sex!

For the record, I believe in abstinence plus education. I believe you should teach younger people about all forms of birth control. In addition to birth control, STDs should be stressed to the gill. The only way people can be wise about sex is to know and not be afraid of it.
