Onesome: "Guts"-- sometimes can determine the outcome: whoever digs in and plays through the injuries and circumstances. What is your favorite memory of someone or a team driving past adversity to win the big one? Oh wow. Hard to think of one. The Giants winning the Super Bowl this year is the first thing in my mind. No one expected them to survive the first round of playoffs. And then the helmet catch was the defining moment, even if the Giants hadn't won.
Twosome: ...and-- what brought that question on? The local team won the College World Series last night, winning every elimination game possible to advance as the lowest seed ever to win a National Title. No question, just kudos to them. Okay, easy question: did you hear anything about the games where you are? I live in Georgia. Oh course, we here felt our Bulldogs should have won. Today, as they were talking about it on the radio this morning, they had the fight song playing in the background. I thought it was my phone going off and someone from Joey's home calling me.
Threesome: Determination-- helps in life: what have you accomplished through sheer determination that will remain with you as a bright spot in your life? My college degree. I kept going at it. While some people felt I'd never get it when I didn't attend Tech 11 years ago, I felt I'd get it when I was ready. I wasn't ready to get it until I was 23. It took me 5 years to get it, but I got it. I didn't even let my mother's death stop me once I started going for it. And now, I have a nice job as a result.
