I Am Not Dead

The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated. I have just been quite busy since my last post.

Currently, I am in Fayetteville, GA staying with Joey's folks. Well, Joey's here, too, but I'm a guest of his parents, not him. He's been acting like I have annoyed him, but I don't think he's too upset I am here. So, why am I here? I am here because I had a job interview today. It went much better than the last interview. At the moment, I don't have a job, but I'm feeling positive at the moment.

I came up here Saturday. Mary Ellen, Joey's mother, wanted to get my hair done in some capacity the last time I was here. I didn't have enough time, so I made sure I had enough time this go around. I left Savannah around 9 and made a stop in Warner Robins. I was going to visit my friend Laura, but when I got to her place, she wasn't home. *Crying* I wish I had had all day to wait and visit her, but I didn't. So, I went to the Museum of Aviation at the Air Force base. It's free to the public. I wish I had had more than an hour to tour it. I will have to stop there again on my way home. There is so much to see. While there, I picked up a few rubber duckies and brought them here with me. They were gifts for the kids in Joey's family. His niece loved the Army duckie I got her. Her father just joined the Army, so I specifically chose the Army duckie for her and twin brother. Her twin, I could have sworn, called me Aunt Shawn when he thanked me. I have been around the kids and the family enough that I am now Aunt Shawn. *Laughing*

After I left the musuem, I drove up to Stockbridge to get my hair done. I like it. And it's going to take some time to adjust to it, but for the most part, I like it. I'll let you decide. Joey hated it when he first saw it. Well, to each their own. He'll have to get used to it.

I'm not going to say Friday was a waste. It wasn't. Friday night was spent with my new friend, Shannon, and her two sons. We went to see the Tybee Island Beach Bum parade. I took my camera, so I got plenty of shots. Her boys had fun and got soaked. After the parade, we all went and had a pizza. Of course, I find another girlfriend to hang out with, it may be time for me to move. *Sigh*

Sunday, well, I can't remember too much, except Joey and I went to a bar and watched a movie. Once he fell asleep during the movie, I went to bed as well. I can't believe I stayed up longer than him for once. *Laughing* Oh, I also went shopping with Mary Ellen and picked out the suit I wore to today's interview.

Yesterday, I spent time getting ready for the interview. I also went to Joey's son's baseball game. We did that tonight as well. Let me say that was quite an adventure. *Laughing* Being out there made me feel like I was 12 again. Made me recall going to Josh Mingle's baseball game in the summer of 1991 when my family was visiting Nashville and hanging out with that family. I miss them. In fact, this past weekend plus here in Fayetteville has made me miss Nashville. Tonight, I found some clover flowers and made a flower crown, just like I would have done at age 12. When Joey saw it on me, he made a remark about it. I don't think he knew how to react. He doesn't know how to react to me half the time, but he enjoys my friendship, and that's what counts.

I'll be staying here until Thursday. I planned on going home yesterday, but the folks talked me into staying another day, just in case. Joey had told me earlier to stay if the weather was bad in the morning. He remarked that I probably wouldn't want to drive in bad weather, like it was on our way home from the game, but I think he was concerned and worried about me being in that mess. I swear, he's more like the chick in our friendship.

Off to go watch Shark with him. We both enjoy that show. Shame it wasn't renewed. So, off to watch the last one. Looks like a good one.
