Joey sliding down the rail
Joey sliding down the rail

At the moment, I am preparing myself for a job interview. I had a call this morning and now I'm waiting for contact about an in-person interview. I got back into Savannah around noon. It amazes me I know my way directly from my home to the home of Joey's parents so well. I know at least 3 different ways to get to their house from the Interstate. *Laughing*

And before I go on, let me just state I wish Lou Gramm would allow people to use his songs as profile songs on MySpace. Right now, I'm really into "Just Between You and Me." I'd like to use it at the moment.

And while I'm typing this, I just noticed on the news ticker that the Dalai Lama is offering prayers to the quake victims in China. I know that the Chinese-Tibetian relationship is strained, but as a religious leader, shouldn't he be offering prayers to the victims, no matter who they are? Prayers are wonderful things, but the Dalai Lama should be the bigger of the 2 nationality leaders and urge all he knows to assist the quake victims, even starting or aligning with a relief effort. I'm not being callous, but it just seemed like not all was being done that can be done.

Actually, at my appointment yesterday, I got into a discussion with my new therapist about the spiritual verses scientific nature of believing in God and the Afterlife. He asked me what I believed and told him at times, it's hard to keep faith. On one hand, I'm into science. Science can't prove God. On the other hand, science can't disprove God, either. There are many things that can't be explained by science. I won't go more into the specifics, but it was an interesting talk.

This picture you see here is of Joey from Sunday. He and I went to Stone Mountain. For being 29-years-old and growing up for most of my life in this state, I had never been there. I was talking about it to Joey's stepfather, Harold, on Saturday. Joey over heard our conversation and told me he'd take me out there. So, when he woke up on Sunday, we got dressed in comfortable clothes and went out there. We didn't have the money to do everything there, but we took a train ride and hiked up the mountain. Yes, we climbed to the top. The Skyride was closed for the day due to high winds. The only way up was to walk it. Joey's stronger and faster than me, so it took me some time to get there. My asthma came into play while trying to keep pace and I was out of breath most of the climb. I didn't let that stop me. I took breaks, but I didn't stop. I made it to the top. Thank goodness they had a water fountain at the top. The walk down was much easier. I did get a certificate marking my ascent, but I forgot it at the park. All that matters is that I know I climbed it. We also had my camera, so we got some shots. Joey handled most of the photography this time.

Oh, the new Richard Marx project is available for download. It's an acoustic collaboration with Matt Scannell. Half are Richard songs and the other half are Scannell/Vertical Horizon songs, with a new song in the mix. Quite interesting to check out
