Less Than a Month Until School…

And I got to get off my ass and do more work on my Senior Project.

Today, I spent most of my day downtown with these guys and gal to finish our ACM planning retreat. Most of the activities related to the retreat were held in the George Watson room of the River Street Inn. That's an nice little hotel there for being downtown and on the water. We had a nice view of the river; we saw several boats and barges go up and down it.

This picture was taken at one point around noon on the riverfront. We took several photos outside with the interim head of the School of Computing. He came out to talk to us and give us a few ideas. I had him many moons ago when I attempted Computer Science as a major. He still remembered me after all those years when I took my brother for advisement in 2004.

When we weren't working, we were playing. Chris, our faculty advisor, had some little games planned for us to play, like we did last night. And a few times, we snuck over to the game room across the hall and played some pool.

We also took some time out and visited one of the museum homes in town. We had a private tour of the Owens-Thomas House. It was a very interesting home. It had some curved doors, false doors, a cellar, and other stuff. Our tour guide told us it had the largest intact slave quarters in the United States. That is helpful to those that want to document slave life in the United States.

I have decided that I have to get more swimming under my belt this fall, I hate how I looked in the photos today. Maybe I shouldn't have worn that shirt with those pants. However, it was so hot, the outfit I wore today made sense. Yet, I looked like the fat cow I am in some of the photos. Thank goodness I run the ACM site. I cane make sure the slimmer photos of me at posted. *Evil Laugh*

My problem is I have a troublesome middle section. Some of it is fat. Some of it is genetics. I can't fight my genes, but I can try to lose the fat. I wish I were more active, but Savannah is so hot, I don't want to go outside to do anything. I don't really have the space to exercise at home. I don't have the car nor the money at the moment to use the school gym. But, once school starts, I will have a car again, and I'll be able to stay on campus longer to do school work and have access to the rec center and pool again. I have got to be more active.
