I loved the Monkees as a kid. Yes, I am of the revival generation. My mother wouldn't let me watch MTV as a child, save for the Monkees. She grew up watching the Monkees, so she knew the show was safe for her kids. Next thing I know, the show was on our local station and then Nickelodeon. Nicki and I had access to my mother's vinyl records and 45s, so we'd played the music all the time.

After hearing about the talk about keeping the Monkees out of Hall of Fame got me into listening to them today. They may have started a fabricated band, but grew to become musicians and are still well known 40 years later. I say let them in.
