Kylie is alive. The gerbil is lucky I didn't kill her!
Around 4:30 this morning, I awoke in bed to a feeling of a large bug on me. I figured it was a palmetto bug, at first. Scooter, if he finds a palmetto bug, likes to bring them to me in bed. Damn bug would not get off me after 3 times of brushing it off of me. In the dark, I sat up to brush the determined bug. I look down at one of my pillows and saw a giant palmetto bug. Except this was a huge, gray palmetto bug with a tail. And with the small amount of light in the room, I realised this wasn't a bug, but a rodent. And not just any rodent, but the missing gerbil! After chasing her on the bed, I scooped her up and ran to Beth. I woke Beth up and told her to turn on the light. I needed her to confirm it was Kylie.
The gerbil appeared just as we had given up looking for it. Isn't that always the case? You find what you're looking for when you quit looking. I'm just wondering where it has been for the past week. And how did it get from Beth's room to the back bedroom? And how did it get on the bed? We won't be able to answer these questions.
My father demanded that I apologize to Harri for the gerbil thing. I had been calling her Gerbil Eater. I knew she didn't eat the gerbil, however, her response to her natural urge to eat the gerbils lead to Kylie being missing for a week. But, there is no rogue gerbil in the house anymore!
