Today Was A Beautiful Day.

Gator
Uploaded by peachy92.

I spent most of it outside today. First, Matthew and I went out to the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. We saw at least 8 different gators and plenty of turtles and birds. It must be bird watching season at the Refuge. And at one point, a group of 20 people pulled up and got out of their cars, we think, to paint. Most of the cars I saw there were NOT from Georgia or South Carolina.

This big boy in the photo was the last gator we saw.

After the trip to the Refuge, we went over to Lake Mayer. I had gone there yesterday to take some photos. Plenty of wildlife there as well. Geese, mallard ducks, seagulls, Muscovy ducks, and even a bunny. I felt for the poor little bunny. *Crying* I honestly think someone abandoned the bunny there at the park. I think he's taken care of by virtue of seeing a bowl for food near the place I saw the bunny. I really wanted to bring it home, but we have enough pets. Plus, he hopped away from me.

Beth and Ben came with us to Lake Mayer, so we had a snack and fed some birds. I felt like a 10-year-old again.

If you like birds or know birds, please check out my Bird collection. I would love to know the name of some of the birds I have seen over time.

Hi, Shawn. I have a good friend who likes visiting wildlife refuges and watching birds. I'll email her the link to you bird pictures. Maybe she can help!

TheLady, I would appreciate that. There are all sorts of interesting birds in this area. The Savannah NWR is perfect for bird watching at this time.

Sounds like it was a nice day. If I had found the bunny I would have felt the same, but my hubby would have said no, because we have way too many animals at our home. Maybe you can go and check on it from time to time, if it is close by.

pisses me off when ppl abandon rabbits like that. no companion animal is disposable!

speaking of rabbits, i'm gonna go upstairs and hang out with mine for a while.
