Living A School Life.
August 23, 2006

At noon today, there was an Honors Program meeting. I decided to go. I don't think I'll be too active in in the program. Most of the students in the program are Matthew and Beth's ages. There are a few events that look good to me. One will be about what your clothes say about you. That one will be presented by one my Oceanography professor's wife. The other interesting event is about résumés. That will be given by my Business English professor.

UNIX class was okay. We went over the GREP command. Our first homework assignment was given to us. It's due Friday. I spent most of my free time today working on it. We've got a spare computer in the IIR lab. Tomorrow, I'm going to see about installing Ubuntu on it. There are several Linux based web robots out there. Our main server is Windows Server 2003 based. I think for the project, it would be beneficial to have a Linux box. Plus, it will help me in UNIX. *Smile*

I did leave campus for a bit to go to Target. I needed some blank CDs. I need to get another copy of VB.net for my computer. I loss the license for it, plus I was nice and gave someone else the discs, so they would save money in discs for getting it for their computer. *Sigh* I'll be needing it for my Client/Server class.

FIlm class was just a discussion on the films we watched Monday. As I was leaving campus, I saw my brother's truck. He's developed a strong social life now that he can drive. The Anime Club at school was showing the Naruto movie tonight. As soon as I saw the sign for it, I figured he want to go. I just didn't have a chance to tell him. Oh, and he's not coming home tonight. He wasn't home last night, either. He'll be at Jessica's again. For two kids that aren't girlfriend and boyfriend, they sure spend a lot of time together. My father remarked tonight it kind of bugs him. I say just let them be.

I figured after this semesters, I'm 7 classes shy of graduation. I'll need one more PE, Graphic Design, 2 semesters of Senior Project, and E-Commerce. I can't believe how close I am in getting out. *Smile* After that, it's seeing if I can get a job and survive again in the real world.

is this a 4 year or a 2 year institution? will you be getting your Associates or a Bachelors? Either way, it must feel great to be almost finished. It took me 4 years, a semester and just 1 class in summer school to graduate because I'd spent my initial 4 years partying and being wild.

Somehow I don't think that'll be an issue for you. And that's good.

I'll have a 4 year, degree in over 5. My first classes were taken at one class per semester. After I'm out, I'll have a Bachelors in Information Technology.
