Onesome: You can't always get what you want- Have you ever wanted something really badly and had it fall through, only to look back later and realize that things ended up better for it? Plenty of things, I would say. There is something recently, but I'm not yet at the point where I'm ready to fully explain it. In time, I will. My longtime readers and friends probably have a clue of what it is.
Twosome: But if you try sometimes- Is there anything you you've ever wanted so badly that you were willing to give up on other things while you tried to get/save up for the one big thing? At the moment, I'm trying to save up for a new digital camera. One that I don't have to share with the family. I have the money for it in savings, but I'm trying to keep my money in my savings accounts.
Threesome: Well you just might find you get what you need- Most of us have been at spots in our lives where what we want and what we need are not always the same thing. Money's tight and that new toy you want isn't going to happen because you need to get the brakes on the car repaired or you need textbooks for school. What have you really, really wanted, but you had to give up because of practicality? And did you ever figure out how to have both the want and the need? The said camera. I could have afforded it earlier, but my paycheck has had to go to other things. I've had to buy books for the project. I've had to help with bills at home. I miss the paycheck from my bankruptcy job. It was only $8 an hour, but living at home and being 22 at the time, it was plenty. I bought things I needed. I bought things I wanted. I helped with bills in the house. If I wanted to go to a concert, I could afford the tickets and trip with about 2 paychecks. Now, I forego a lot of stuff. I'd love to go to another Atlanta Braves game, but I can't afford it. I was lucky to be able to go to Michigan recently. If I had to pay for most of that trip, I wouldn't have been able to go. I hope to get out of this rut soon. And yes, I know I'm spoiled by my father, but I do feel bad asking him to pay for some things, like the new camera I want.
