Hot, Sticky, Humid, and Home
July 18, 2006

It was hot again today. However, growing up in the Southeast US, I'm used to it. If I can make here, I can make anywhere in the US, I guess. However, it's so nice to walk into a cold *Freezing* house and freeze after being out in a hot, humid morning. *Laughing*

Today was productive. I slept in as long as I wanted. Matthew got this license this past Monday. He had to take Beth to school today. I didn't get dressed for today about 3:15. The first thing I did was went over to my old high school and voted. I voted on the Republican ticket for one reason only: Ralph Reed running for Lt. Governor. The man scares me. I fear he'll try to turn the US into a theocracy. I may be of Christian beliefs, but I also believe in freedom of religion. I'm for God in the Pledge and in our money, but not because we're a Christian nation. I'm for the word God because God simply recognizes that we the people, for the most part, believe in a higher power. However, just because I think that, doesn't mean I think religion should play a central part of our government. This isn't Puritan Massachusetts. This is 21st century America. Ralph Reed brings up fears of Puritan Massachusetts to me. Even my Republican father does not want him elected! Besides, look at his record. I can't think of a good thing about him.

After voting, I headed to Target and picked up the latest Train CD. I heard "Cab" for the first time at Taco Bell yesterday. I instantly recognized it as Train. I had the good fortune of seeing them live back in 2004. The Target version came with the bonus track "Coming Home." On my way home from school tonight, I listened to parts of it. I liked "Shelter Me." What got me was the line "Hey, na na na… I'll make it with or without you."

I got told to be quiet in history class today. As usual, it's because I know too much. Someone else was asked not to answer questions, too. The professor asked for a recap on Pickney's Treaty. I placed my straw in my mouth and sucked down water. After no one answered, the professor had me answer what it did.

Okay, Atlanta Braves time.
