I have a Harry with me at the moment. The little kitten is usually held by my father, but he's not here. Harry doesn't need to be in the carrier box we've been keeping him in.
Today's Ethics class was about birth control. I couldn't believe the naïvety of the psych students in my class at the different birth controls from the past and present. These grown women were giggling at the vaginal ring and female condom passed around the class. I'm thankful for my mother educating me. She got me YM magazine as a young teen and taught sex education in Girl Scouts. I wasn't embarrassed at the birth controls. I recognized them on sight. I think the whole deal with the birth control giggle fit shows that when it comes to life and sex, no one is totally honest about it. We don't know everything.
As for the smiling guy in this post, well, the professor called this her Elvis condom. The guys in the class wanted to see it after the professor talked about it. Also passed around the class were an example of an IUD, a diaphragm, implant examples, the vaginal ring, and a few others birth control methods. After birth control, we moved on to the issue of adoption.
I worked only 6 hours this week. That's going to be a small paycheck. I'm in a holding pattern at the moment. I went ahead and ordered XML for Dummies to add to the library building up in the lab. The books I have added are mine, but they are more helpful at school than at home. After class, I stopped by the store and picked up plenty of cat food, people food, and spices. Tonight, we're trying the Carrabba's Bread Dipping Spice. My father is making spaghetti, so it will go nicely as a side dish with bread.
I hear a thunderstorm rolling into the neighborhood. I might have to disconnect the cable soon. Oh, I've turned off the trackback system. For reason, it just stopped working. I turned off my plugins, and it still didn't work. I haven't had a trackback in 6 months, except for spam. Maybe it's better I don't use them.

have you thought of using wordpress? and which version of MT are you using?
Posted by: Sam at June 28, 2006 8:43 PMwow... I don't know why, but I got a very scary feeling reading about grown women laughing about birth control. *shudder* I watched a PBS documentary about sex, birth control, abortion, ect. in the Deep South (on the Missippi Delta) and it really frightened the hell out of me. Sounds like the education & resources are just as bad everywhere (it ain't great here either).
And my dear Shawn, the Girl Scouts is no place to learn about sex!!!!! Unless your troop was a little wilder than mine
I have MT 3.2, Sam. I tried WP, but I couldn't get skinning to work.
Liz, well, there was this one time my Cadette troop was at the same campsite as a ton of Boy Scouts.
Unfortunately for me, I was having my first period during the trip!
The last thing I wanted to do that night was play with the boys, how came over and asked us to join them in their games. My mother was a little worried we would go too boy crazy. Actually, Girl Scouts had a program call Girls Are Great, which was all about girls' health. My Junior leader did it with us, and then when my mother became our leader, she did it, too.
shawn, i had trouble with it at first too...but they have the theme switcher and lots and lots of themes you can create for your own. i love it. you should test it again...actually, how about i set up an account for you to use on my reseller and you can try it if you want? email me and let me know.
Sam, thanks for the offer. I can set up a WP account on my server. At the moment, I'm part of the tech committee for ACM at school. I've got a link to set up a server on my computer if I want. I need to get my mom's old Dell and see about setting up a server.
