I'm not much of a cook. I figured Beth would never get around to making a homemade pizza. So, I hunkered down and made it tonight. It was a pepperoni pizza. I made the pizza dough from a mix (with olive oil as directed) , then placed pizza sauce from a jar, pepperonis, pizza cheese, more pepperoni, parmesan cheese, and finally oregano on it. It wasn't too bad. I just put too much oregano on it. I had trouble with the mix, after it was mixed. I followed the instructions on the dough pack. I used water, but it wasn't enough, so I added a bit more. I placed it on the pan, and spread the dough as told. I should have gone with my gut. The directions said nothing about flour. I thought I should have used some. I didn't. The dough stuck all over my hands. Matthew found some flour, so I used it. It did help. I'll have to remember to go with my gut when it comes to cooking. Who knows what next I'll make. If my dad makes spaghetti tomorrow, I might attempt to make Carrabba's Bread Dipping Spice.
He thought I did well on tonight's pizza.
Off to do tonight's homework. I need to get off my butt soon and work on my movie paper.

Hey, every cook has to start somewhere. I'm sure you're much better at making a pizza than I am. The only pizza making I've been involved in was sticking a frozen pizza into a preheated oven.
Posted by: sya at June 27, 2006 11:51 PMMmm... nothing better than home-made pizza. When I visited my family in NY, my Italian aunt taught me how to make a great sauce from scratch... have I made it since we've been home? Of course not! LOL!
Posted by: Liz at June 29, 2006 12:09 AMmy brother's really been into watching the Food Network lately, which of course cracks me up because really, he falls asleep to it. i'm talkin' Iron Chef, Molto Mario, etc . . . it's just too funny because i just don't see him cooking anything, ever. he has to ask me how long to heat up a freakin' Boca Burger!
LOL. learning by osmosis.
Posted by: misbah kyrene at June 29, 2006 1:03 AMBeth loves watching the Food Network. Last night, she was hungry. She made the dipping spice and cooked some spaghetti noodles and ate them together.
