Dear Bobby Cox,
May 20, 2006

I've only been serious about baseball and the Atlanta Braves since mid-2001, but I have to question tonight's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

As you know, Johnny Estrada was your catcher last year. He was an All-Star the year before. Basically,I'm saying you know the guy. You know he's slow as molasses. You know he's not quite the same since Darin Erstad of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim knocked him out in that dirty play last year.

What I'm getting at is why did walk Johnny Estrada? Had you walked the man before him, Shawn Green, Luis Gonzalez would not have tied the game. He still would have been on third. There would have been a good chance that the Braves could have won tonight's game. Johnny might have hit into a double play. Take out Green and Johnny, and Gonzalez won't score. The game end 9-8, Braves. But no, you let Green bring in Gonzalez to tie the game, then walk Johnny. Chris Reitsma has another meltdown and the Braves lose 10-9.

I know, I haven't been understanding baseball as long as you have. Yet, I must wonder why you didn't take advantage of all you know about Estrada!

Okay, now it's time for me to go to bed. Hopefully, we'll win tomorrow.
