"The Champion Wants A Challenger Who Just Might Have The Strength To Take Him Down."
April 24, 2006

I started my day going to Staples to buy ink for my printer. I knew the school's printers were low or out of toner, so I took my own printer to school to print the final copy of our project that was due today. After the Staples trip, I went to the final Wesley lunch of the semester. We're having a big cookout next week, but this is the last one of how we usually do it. Today's devotional was a poem from Searching for Shalom by Ann Weems. After lunch, I spoke with another student and Melissa for several minutes. We discussed the different views, actions, and tenets of Christian faiths. The lady spoke about attending Savannah Christian because it gives her what she wants. They gave her an adult baptism because the Methodist Church would not rebaptize her. I didn't frown upon that. I told her she had to do what she felt was best. Also, I told them the story about my Baptist Grandma being buried with a Catholic rosary. They laughed. I also found out that Melissa's moving her office over to the Methodist church closest to my house. That should be nice for me. I can be introduced to the church through her.

I also found out about the trip to Michigan next month. We'll be leaving for Atlanta Wednesday night. We'll be flying to Detroit Thursday morning from Atlanta. We'll return to Atlanta and Savannah that Sunday afternoon/night. *Smile* Too bad there won't be any free time to drive over to Detroit one night and catch a Detroit Tigers game. They'll be home that weekend. I'd like to check out Comerica Park. *Smile*

After lunch, I had to head back to Staples and get a USB 2.0 cord for my printer. Yes, I forgot to buy it the first time. After I got back to campus, I took cookies left over from lunch to the Writing Center and the IT lounge. They were all eaten, as they were meant to be. I settled into the IT lounge with my computer and printer to print up the last of my project. Word spread quickly around campus I had a printer. The leader of one of the other groups can into the lounge and asked to print a cover sheet. I didn't mind. After he left, I was able to print my stuff. When he came back, the men of my IT class started to come into the lounge. Group 4 ended up using my printer to print some of their work. I even let some guy I had never seen before use the printer. On my way to taking the printer to my car, I ran into some of the IT chicks. They laughed at my printer. Seems their group was in the SoC lab. They repeated to me that someone walked into the lab and announced to everyone that I had a printer up in the IT lounge. Some people thought it was the school's printer. I made sure everyone knew that was my printer.

We had a few bumps in the road prior to turning in the assignment, but my group got through it. After class, the three of us that did a majority of the project talked with each other. I told them I would give them a good score on the peer evaluation since I know they did a lot, if not most, of the work in the project. They told me that I did a lot too, being the one that would take up the slack. I confessed to them that I know one of our project parts is not the best. However, I'm turning it in as in because I could not and can not baby the person that did the work. I covered his ass once. I can't cover everyone all the time. They understood. Seems they were not happy with this groupmate. Our group started as a group of 6. It felt as if it was a group of 3. However, we turned the project in. Even our professor knows my group was the slacker group of the class.

So, all I have left this semester are the follow assignments: Oceanography homework, Economics homework, S&D presentation, and S&D peer evaluations. I'm so glad that's it. *Smile*

You're so lucky...we finish next week (I graduate 6 May) - but we have two major assignments due 1 May and we've yet to get instructions about how to complete them. I'm being forced to procrastinate...and I don't like it If I'd had instructions, I would've finished the assignments a week or two ago!!

Glad to hear things seem to be going well for you! I hope you've got a wonderful summer planned!
