"It’s A Common Curse / That The Grass Is Always Greener / No Matter What You Have"
April 13, 2006

On my way home from school today, I had "Remember Manhattan" on repeat. The title is a line from that song. Fee Waybill wrote the lyrics based on the the Woody Allen film Manhattan. I've never seen the movie, but I remember Richard discussing the lyrics in an interview. It's about trading one relationship in for another. It's been in my mind since I got out of the counselor's office yesterday. It's not so much the trading in a relationship that's affecting me. It's moving on that's been waging in my mind lately.

Today, I went to lunch with 2 of my classmates. As we went to pick up one from her job, I was talking to the other one. I was telling her all about what I have ahead or me this summer. We ended up talking about who has motivation in the IT department and who doesn't. After the conversation, I felt good. I felt proud. I'm one of the motivated students in IT. I've got the world in front of me. I need to stay motivated. I won't be in a never-ending rut. At this point in my IT college career, I know who to work with and who to avoid. Other people can choose to be slackers, but I'm not. (It's funny, Train's "My Private Nation" just came on iTunes. It sort of relates to this topic.)

As for school today, it was fine. Data and Economics were fine. I felt evil after Oceanography. There we were talking about overfishing in the oceans and all I wanted was some Captain D's. *Laughing* Yes, that's what I had for dinner. I also turned in my craptacular 13-page report for Oceanography. Thankfully, it's only 10% of my grade for that class. It could be C quality. At this point, I just want to get out of this semester.

What is with the Atlanta Braves pitching? We're sucking this year. *Frown* Hopefully, they'll get in order. Yes, I'm watching the Braves and TiVoing the other shows I'd watch at this time. Yes, we finally get the first out of the game after giving up 5 runs to the Phillies! Using the TiVo is so much easier than a VCR. One of the IT chicks' husband is at tonight game. I'd love to go to one sometime this season.
