At this moment, asking me this question is ike asking me if the Pope's Catholic. Yes, my mother died!
My life is in a tailspin at the moment.
5. What countries did you visit? As answered in #1, I went to Canada, for a couple of hours, this year.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? The same thing I lacked in 2004, 2003, 2002…
7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? December 5, 2005. That's the date my mother died.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Surviving, despite all the
that hit my fan this year.
9. What was your biggest failure? Well, let's see…no, I am not going to answer this question. I am not going to beat myself up.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Thankfully, no.
11. What was the best thing you bought? A new computer.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Nothing really happened this year.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? My own. I feel like I'm a HUGE failure.
14. Where did most of your money go? To live!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I was happy to spend time in Maryland with my parents. I will never regret the $400.00 I blew on us going to Hershey Park.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005? I know it was not released this year, but "Meant To Live" by Switchfoot describes my year.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? I had planned on working the Mysterious Santa, but I'm just not in the mood to celebrate Christmas this year.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005? Over and over again. And each time I thought I got over it, I was sucked back in. I'm just a stupid fool.
23. How many one-night stands? None! I'm not that way.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Still CSI but I've been watching Cold Case, too.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Besides myself? I'm sorry, I just can't hate that person, even when hate might help me. I'm just not that way.
26. What was the best book you read? Strangers by Taichi Yamada.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Céline Dion's French stuff.
28. What did you want and get? Some sanity.
29. What did you want and not get? A true, simple love. I didn't want to get married. I just wanted a companion. I sure know how to pick 'em!
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Madagascar
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 27. I was too busy handling my mother's death to celebrate it.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Spending more time with my mother, having a companion.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? "The same as it ever was." I did experiment with some things, but I mostly bombed.
34. What kept you sane? My mother!
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? No one, really. I wasn't even panting over Barry Zito this year. (Please note the panting is only a joke!

36. What political issue stirred you the most? I avoid political issues that stir me. I have better things to do.
37. Who did you miss? The usuals. Pumpkin, my mother, to name a few.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Ari's been cool. She got me a birthday card with Hello
Kitty tatoos.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: To plagerize myself from an e-mail I sent a friend: Even though I complained about my mother and I know she did weird, misunderstood things, I loved her deeply and she did what she thought as best to get my life in order and make sure I was happy. All she wanted was for me to be happy. I know my mother loves me.

Shawn, I oftentimes stop by to read your blog, but I haven't posted any comments...I haven't visited in the last couple of weeks, and I just found out about the untimely passing of your mother. My sympathies and prayers are with you and your family.
On a happier note, I just want to let you know that of the blogs that I frequently visit, I feel that yours is the most interesting, well-designed, and "user-friendly". Keep up the great work! :-)
