I was surfing around the 'Net. I stumbled upon reading about Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp. And this reminded me about something I saw back in 1993.

In the summer of 1993, my family lived on Ft. Bragg. At the time, we were awaiting my father to return from Egypt before we moved to Savannah. My mother had to deposit a check at her bank. The bank was located in Georgia. We decided that we'd go to Savannah to deposit the check, instead of Augusta, where we used to live.

On our way home, we stopped at a rest area. For those that aren't used to the trip between Savannah and Ft. Bragg, most of the trip occurs in South Carolina. It's only natural that we stopped at a rest area in South Carolina. Whatever rest area we stopped at, it was located between Ridgeland, SC, and Lake Marion. It was about 5PM that summer evening.

Located on a nail in the wall of the Ladies' restroom was this thing I can only classify as a dragon. It was very small. It looked like a black lizard. But how many black lizards have batwings? Not only did I see it, but so did my mother, sister, and all the ladies in the restroom at the time.

I have never seen a creature like that again. Everytime we stop in South Carolina, I scan the walls. It's such a shame that there were no camera phones in abundance in 1993. Maybe one day I'll see it again.
