Well, I've Had A Productive Weekend.
September 6, 2005

I have today off from school. It's to equalize the total time for MWF class to TR classes. *Smile* Actually, I rather be at school.

That's not to say I haven't been productive in my school work. Quite the contrary. Sunday night, I started The Fatal Equilibrium for my Economics class. I got about a fourth into the book, finishing the rest last night. *EEK!* For this book to be written by 2 college professors, I was appalled at the book. The grammar was atrocious! I found many of places missing commas where they should be. There were also several sentence fragments. I admit I'm not an English major, but I did work in the Writing Center. I know enough to see when things aren't right. And did it get worst! I found several typos. The most glaring typos were in dialogue spoken by the only black character in the book. This character was an English professor at Harvard! I doubt he would have spoken that way. How has these glaring errors stood pat for the past 20 years? *EEK!* I got the book read before I had to had it read. *Smile*

I also have a Database assignment due on Friday. This weekend, I've been working off and on on the assignment. I just completed the last questions on it about 20 minutes ago. *Smile* That's one more assignment I don't have to worry about for the rest of the week.

This morning, I went to the bank and deposited my excess check. Now I have to wait for that to be processed until I can pay off some of my bills. I've got my JCPenney's card to pay off. I also have enough to pay off my long-neglected Sears card. I've also got to pay on the cell phone bill. It's cut off at the moment. It feels so good knowing I have the money to start repairing my credit! Hey, at least I don't owe the IRS! *Laughing*

I also have some Richard Marx items coming to me, soon. There were some items on eBay that I didn't have that I wanted because of the rare tracks on them. My mother was nice enough to get the items for me. I'm expecting two "Silent Scream" singles, one has "So Into You" and the other has "Can't Help Falling In Love." My mother mistakenly bid on the one with "Can't Help Falling In Love." I told her that was cool. The other Richard items are the European version of Flesh And Bone, containing "Talk To Ya Later," and the "Chains Around My Heart" single with "Wild Life" on it. Now, to just get the CD with "At The Station" on it, and my Richard collection should hold me for a while. *Laughing*

For those that don't know it, with the release of Richard's My Own Best Enemy album, he released a live version of his song "Endless Summer Nights." It can be found on the special Target bonus disc that came with the album and on import copies of the album. This version is very special to me. *Smile* It was recorded live from the webcast I attended back in October 2000. *Smile* Yes, a live track I can actually say I saw performed in person. You can't hear me in the crowd, but it brings a smile to my face knowing I'm in the crowd. I was very nervous that night, and not because I was seeing Richard live and probably was going to meet him again that night. By that time, seeing and meeting Richard was old habit. No, that night, Richard's wife, Cynthia Rhodes, a.k.a. "Penny" from Dirty Dancing, was seated right behind me! Also behind me was Cynthia's sister and Richard's mother.

I'd like to meet Richard just one more time. The 4 times I met him, I had glasses. Since 2000, I've gotten contacts. I would just like one picture with Richard where I look nice and have contacts on. After that, I'll be a happy woman. Now, if he would just get his butt back down to my part of the US.
