Don't mind me listening to Richard Marx.
I love that man's music.
So, this afternoon, I went to see Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - by myself. My brother bummed out on me just before I went. Except for the A/C being out in the screening room hosting the 3 PM showing , I enjoyed the show. Only about 30 people were at this showing. I don't want to spoil the whole movie but I'll just say the following comments. I didn't see any Bush Administration bashing. Sure, maybe the for/against comment could have inspired a similar comment by Anakin but people have said that type of stuff prior to the beginning of the War on Terror.
Actually, the best real life example I could compare to the development of the Empire is the rise of the Third Reich. Palpatine can be seen as a movie version of Hitler. Both came to power via democracy and they both became dictators. Both had their powers increased in order to "calm" the fear of their respective governments and people. And if you've seen Return of the Jedi, then you know that both eventually lose their power. Hilter committed suicide. Emperor Palpatine dies at the hands of Darth Vader.
I was a little angry at Padmé at the end. I know Anakin got a little physical at the end. But the way she died, I just wanted to smack her. I just felt like she chose to die.
That's the summary of my day for today. ![]()
