Today was a busy day for me. Around 9:45 this morning, I was back out at school to pick up my paycheck. While I was there, I checked out my status on the CSEMS scholarship. I did get it! I'm just waiting on Financial Aid to work it out now and send me the money. I think getting the scholarship plus getting good grades this semester are worth celebrating! :hornblow: My final grade for English was posted and I got the B I much wanted and deserved from that class! So my GPA will drop a bit! It's still not a bad GPA. I just have to wait on the school to calculate it. :) It doesn't matter to me if I didn't make the Dean's List this time around.
After I got home, I went with Nicki to get her car tags. She did one of the dumbest things. She locked her keys in her car, while it was still running, as we got out to go pay her tag. :banghead: I tried to stop her from doing that and get her keys but I was too late. We sat at the tag office for 40 minutes waiting to the locksmith to come open the door. Thankfully, our insurance covers these type of situations, so we didn't have to pay for the locksmith. :anangel: I hope Nicki takes today as a reason to get a copy of her key for me. This would not have happened if I had a copy of her keys since I had my keys on me.
So, while in the tag office, we've must have heard at least 4 cases of people not being about to get tags with paying extra taxes. These people couldn't understand why they had to pay so much for taxes. Simple: when it comes to cars, the state of Georgia is going to try to squeeze the most it can get from you. This will happen if you transfer your tags from one state to another. :banghead: It's just a fact of life I've picked up from being a military brat, working in bankruptcy, and spending many hours at the DMV with my mother tagging Nicki's car when she got it.
After the Nicki adventure, I came home and waited from Beth to get home from school. As a reward for going to school all this week, I took her to Ruby Tuesday instead of a fast food joint my mother said to take her to earlier in the week. Besides, I was getting sick of pizza here at home and wanted something different. We came straight home from eating.
Once home, I took a nap. That's one thing good about being out of school - sleeping when I want to! Beth was tired, so she took a nap, too. I didn't wake up fully until 7:50, when I decided to watch the episode of All My Children that I missed while at the tag office. After that ended, I called my mother, spoke to her, finished the phone call and decided to type this entry. I'm about to get off so I can watch the *Braves/Los Angeles Dodgers game that will be on soon.
One last thing, I think I have decided to go see Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith. I don't have to see it opening day, but I would like to see it. I just need to find our special edition VHS copies of the versions from my childhood. I can't believe I'm wanting to watch them. I haven't seen a Star Wars at the theater since my parents took Nicki and I, as 3- and 4-year-olds, to see Return of the Jedi in 1983. Jedi is the second movie I can recall ever seeing at the theater.
Ok, I'm off for now…
