Warning To All My Dial-Up Friends:
January 1, 2005

Once you get broadband, you'll be hooked. Starting Thursday night until a couple of minutes ago, we had no Internet access at my house because the cable servers went down. Sure, it bugged me but I think it hit my mother the hardest.

Ok, so now that I have my connection back, let me say HAPPY NEW YEAR! *Smile*

Yesterday, New Year's Eve, was a slow day. My mother and I ended up watching Ringmaster in the afternoon to kill some time. After watching that, she and my brother watched Duplex while I took a nap. After that movie ended, my mother had to take Matthew to a New Year's party at a friends house.

While we were out taking Matthew for a friend, since I rode with her, I discussed how different my life was at this New Year than it was at the last New Year. At the beginning of 2004, I only had 12 hours of schooling to my name and no job. Now, I have a part-time job and 48 total hours to my name. *Smile* Those are just some of the changes I can think of to my life in the past year. *Smile* I know I get depressed over stuff I can't control and I feel like the world is going to end on some days, but I have to face the facts. I have a good life. I have a very good life. Right now, I feel like my life can only get better. *Smile*

When we came home, my mother decided to watch Holiday. I really wish that movie was on DVD. Watching it on our new TV, I sort of felt like I was watching the movie at a theater. It's been over a year since I've seen it and I could sense those changes in me as I watched the movie. I was able to pick up on some things I was blind to a year ago. I found myself yelling at "Julia" for wanting to change "Johnny", instead of loving him for who he was.

And don't ask me why I thought of this when I was watching Holiday, but I realized when I get my own place and hopefully can afford silly items, I want a pinball machine in my house. I guess the play room in the movie reminded me of the fact. *Smile*

After Holiday ended, I turned on the TV and saw that one of my favorite movies of all time, You've Got Mail was on TNT. It was towards the end, so I watched it. I sort of teared at the end when "Kathleen" realizes that "Joe" is NY152, and the two guys she likes is really one guy. They played "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" at that scene. Seems like that song is in a lot of the movies I like so that's probably why I was verklempt.

Finally, after that movie ended, my mother, father, Beth, and I watched the ball dropped and then went to bed. I fell asleep to the sound of many fireworks going off, that I thought I was in a gang shoot out. Well, it's the New Year. We all want it to start with a bang and have it be a great year.

So, here's to 2005 and all the wonders it may bring me. *Blowing A Streamer*
