I am numb.
After school today, I headed to the mall to go shopping. My Grandpa was getting married and I needed a dress. My mother kidded with me to get a sexy black dress. Beth needed clothing, too, so she was with me and brought her friends to help her choose a nice outfit. I felt so good about fitting into a size 14 dress and Beth was depressed about her size. She was also hungry and hadn't eaten in a while, so after the clothes shopping, we went to the food court.
As Beth was purchasing her meal and I was looking over the Sonic menu, my world came crashing down. My mother called with bad news. She called to tell us to take Beth's friends home ASAP and to come home ASAP. Grandpa was dying.
What? How did this happen? He was just given a few months just last week and now he's dying? How did this happen?
Nicki was at work when this happened but she came home ASAP, too. We all huddled together once she got home a few minutes after Beth and I did.
This is a complete and utter shock. Now that little black dress I was so happy about is no longer for a wedding but a funeral. ![]()
I'm not sure if I'm going to school tomorrow. My father says we should go. I'm not sure if I could. I feel I should be with my family and I have people that will cover for me. All I know is that I'm in shock.
I'm not sure when I'll post again. It will probably be after the funeral. My family is coming first before anything else.
To everyone reading, do me a favor and take the time to tell your loved ones that they are loved.

I am so sorry for your loss. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} The only family member I ever lost way my Grandma Lu and that was in 2000. It never totally heals, but keeping Grandpa in your heart will help tremendously. I'd suggest a day off from work/school just to gather yourself.
Now and Forever,
Liz
Shawn,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandfather.
Just remember to always keep his spirit alive in your heart, with all the good memories. {{hugs}} Take the day off, so that you can spend time with your family.
Sincerely,
~Denise~
I'm sorry to hear he passed away before you got the chance to go see him. He knew you love him though. It's never easy but it does get a little better over time. I still think about my grandparents a lot, especially around the holidays and it's been 3 years. Take care and please give my sympathies to your entire family. *hugs*
