I have had that song, now, stuck in my head all day. I'm going to have to listen to it on my way home. I guess I'm happy I have it on CD now.
I should be working at the moment but I'm not. I was only going to work for an hour but business was slow. I volunteered to leave so the regulars today could get paid. I'll still get paid something for the 20 minutes I worked.
During Theater class and the 20 minutes I worked, I came to realize as a woman just how lucky I am. I know I'm not equal to the guys or anything in some respect, but here in the US, I have nearly the same opportunities as all the other guys. Heck, in some regards, I am just a guy.
If I lived elsewhere, I would be dead at the moment because I wouldn't stand pat and be inferior.
Speaking of just one of the guys, I got a small gift from my friend, Mike. I asked him to pick me up a "Toonie" while in Canada. For those that don't know what a "Toonie" is, it is a $2.00 CAN coin. We in the US have $2.00 bills; they have $2.00 coins. I have never seen one before, so I wanted to see one. It has a polar bear on it!
I'm going to have to store it with my Finnish(?) coin, that I have no clue how I got, with the seal on it. I'll have a collection of cute, little foreign coins. Funny, since I have never left the country.
IT class was a drag. It was all the stuff I went over in 1060 back in the fall, again. I spent the time on the Internet reading up about The Choke. I think most people today know what The Choke is.
We got our homework assignments back today in class, too. I think Mike and I are the teacher's pets. Mike e-mailed in his homework and it was displayed on the overhead project as we were reviewing it today. The professor used my homework to work on the conversions on the board. Neither one of us got to keep our assignments. The professor took our hard copies back for some reason. I don't know why. Even then, I didn't really pay attention in class. I was just bored.
Also during IT, I was trying to see if maybe Angela would like to go to the Coastal Empire Fair with me. I don't want to go alone. I also asked my friend Heather to go with me, too. Hey, the more, the merrier! I just need to confirm one person going with me so I can buy my ticket at The Pig for only $12.00 before the deal ends.
After I get out of this computer lab, I have to go partake in an Psych experiment so I can get some extra credit in Chem.
I guess I better shut up now. Not like I'm that interesting. "I'm just a simple girl in a high tech digital world". ![]()

Hmm I don't know what The Choke is... Care to explain??
Posted by: Dragon at October 22, 2004 12:50 AMThose Toonies are pretty, aren't they? I went to Nova Scotia several years ago, and saw them. They don't even HAVE $1 and $2 bills there...the smalled bill they have is a $5.
I have a couple of Toonies that I saved as souvenirs from our trip. Also, Canadian paper money is MUCH prettier than ours. I didn't save any of that, though.
My favorite part about Canadian $$$, though...we forgot to change our USD for CDN, but most places take USD anyway. We stipped at a Tom Horton's for coffee and snacks on the way up to Halifax. I paid for $6.00 worth of stuff with a US $20, and got back about $24 CDN. That freaked me out at first!
Posted by: Christine at October 22, 2004 1:37 AMThat song line is so true. I've realised that you have to fall in love once as a bit of a practice run. The first time I was convinced that I was in love for real I was still rather naive and as such I did things that I now realise you just don't do to the person you claim to love.
Now, second time round, I've learned from the mistakes I've made and I'm a better person and partner for it.
Okay, so maybe I went off topic here a bit as I have no idea what the rest of the song is about.
Posted by: Tracy at October 22, 2004 5:57 AMTrish, The Choke!
Christine, yes, they are. They are two-toned. Our money is so plain. Oh, I think my mother has in her money collection a $2.00 CAN paper bill she offered to give me after she heard I asked for a Toonie. I'm just going to have to get myself up to Canada one day. Even my brother has been. Ok, so it was for 10 minutes. He still got to visit!
Tracy, not off topic at all.
The song is "Next Time I Fall" and it's performed by Peter Cetera and Amy Grant. It's on her new greatest hits album.
