"Memories, Moments You Recall / We Should Be Remembered For The Greatest Of Them All"
October 8, 2004

Good morning. *Hey! Hello! Hi!* TGIF! *Smile*

Classes yesterday were ok. My theater professor joked when he found out I had not seen previously the video he showed us. It was a mid 1970's/early 1980's production. It was about medieval theater and the play acted in the production was the story of Abraham sacrificing Isaac. IT was a drag simply because I had gone over all the material in 1060 this past spring.

After school, I brought my brother back to school and to change my shoes. I was all dressed up yesterday because I like to dress up from time to time. Once I got home, I ended up changing into something more comfortable. Around 3, I got a call from Mike and we went and had lunch at Jalapeno's in Sandfly. I had been craving Taco Night at home and the chicken quesadilla answered that craving. However, the Sandfly quesadilla was not as good as the Abercorn quesadilla. As for conversation, we spoke about childhood toys. I think I dominated the conversation the most. I don't mean to but I feel like someone has to talk.

Since we spoke about childhood items, I pulled out the pictures and thought I would scan a few to share. If you want to see a larger version, click the photo.

My General Lee birthday cake for my 4th birthday

We spoke about the "General Lee" from The Dukes Of Hazzard at lunch For my 4th birthday, my mother got me a "General Lee" cake. As a child, I had boy toys and girl toys. And at age 3, I loved this car. I had the Matchbox version of the car that I loved. It was only natural my mother get something on my cake that I enjoyed. As for the "dents" in car door and hood, I can't believe I remember this, but the door dent is from Nicki putting her finger in the cake. Nicki was only 2½ at the time. My mother was livid when she did that. That happened at home. The hood damage happed at the pizza join we held the celebration at. A bratty son of one of my mother's friends poked 2 fingers into the cake as my mother was showing the cake off to his mother. Again, my mother was livid but she had to grin and bare it with this kid. I don't remember much else from this birthday. After all, it was 1982!

Christmas 1982

Ah, even as a child, I have been a tomboy. This is from Christmas Day, 1982. I can't recall this Christmas very well. I think this was the Christmas of the Skipper disaster! *Laughing* That's a long story. Not all my childhood memories revolve around mad parents and crying kids. Just clearing that up for those wondering. This picture was taken at Grandma's and Grandpa's in Nashville, TN. I wish my hair color could be the same as it was back in the good old days. Wasn't it was pretty color? *Laughing*

So in the list of things you and the pseudoboyfriend have done, I'll add 'going out for lunch'. Maybe dinner is next.

Great pictures and storytelling Shawn!

Hehehehe... my brother still has his original General Lee matchbox. That's sacred ground. No one, and I mean NO ONE, is allowed to touch that matchbox! LOL

Very adorable pictures. I loved the General Lee when I was young too. I also had the matchbox car. Great story!

Take care and have a great weekend...

Sincerely,
~Denise~

Heh. That's cute and gutsy. I wouldn't voluntarily post any pictures of myself online. Except maybe the one where I was just born because I totally looked pissed off in that one.

" However, the Sandfly quesadilla was not as good ..."

Personally I can't imagine any kind of -fly quesadilla tasting good.

housefly, fruitfly, sandfly... there shall be no flies in quesadilla (or in anything else for that matter).

It's now 9pm and while I should be watching Third Watch, I can't since it's been preempted by those stupid debates. like i care about lies!!! So instead, I'm making bad fly jokes and attempting to clean and REDECORATE my room at 9pm. I should be getting to bed by now. the only reason i'm not is because i move the bunnies' cage to my bro's room while cleaning the rest of my room (nick and annie aren't in the cage when i clean)... and he comes back late tonight. he'd better have a key cuz i ain't feelin' rocks at my window like he sometimes does for me to let him in... anyway... *sigh* i MUST clean up. i could've started this task wayyyy earlier this afternoon but i opted to make some creamy wild rice soup for myself and my friends up the street...

okay i'm rambling cuz i really don't want to clean. i want to redecorate but i don't want to clean!

I don't want a fly in any of my quesadillas! I don't understand why the area is called Sandfly. It was just closer to my home.
