Let me get to the bigger topic, first. That happened this morning in the parking lot at school. I don't know how it happened but I slammed on my gas instead of the brake of my car and tore a majority of my back bumper off the car.
I couldn't get a hold of my family for 40 minutes after it happened but I called my insurance company on my own.
My parents did come to the school and my dad removed the bumper. The car will stay parked in the carport until we get the bumper fixed. At least Matthew and I weren't hurt in the mishap.
OK, so, yesterday, I went and saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with my classmate, Mike.
It was a good movie and we both wanted to see it. It was so great to see a movie and not have to explain something to the person with which I was sitting. We both got many of the jokes at the same time. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow had odes to old movies and newer movies alike. The only problems I had with the movie were little things like "Polly's" hair begin perfect after "Joe" did a 360º in his plane. I just found some of "Polly's" antics to be just like something "Lois Lane" would pull. I guess growing up in a society where girls can do anything guys can do, for the most part, it's just annoying to see a girl "needing" to be rescued like "Polly" needed at times.. However, it was a good movie and I will see it again. I'll probably add it to my DVD collection. It has romance for those that love romantic movies and it has action for action buffs. Oh yeah, Jude Law was perfect eye candy in the movie. ![]()
Well, I think I'm going to do something I haven't done in a while - surf the Internet. ![]()

Yikes about the car! Glad you weren't hurt.
Sky Captain sounds like something I'll end up snickering all the way through.
Posted by: sya at September 24, 2004 8:48 PMI'm so so sorry to hear about your car, but I'm very glad you and your bro are ok.
Never had much interest in seeing Sky Captain. I think the film making process involved in that movie would interest me more than the actual plot, so I'll wait for a special edition DVD with all the goodies in it.
Now and Forever,

I didn't think I'd want to see the movie until I saw promos for it. That's something about that time period I find romantic.
Posted by: Shawn at September 25, 2004 9:54 AMYikes. What did you hit with your car to rip the bumper off like that??
Sky Captian never held much interest for me either when I saw the promo's for it. Guess it's just not my type of movie... Heck I donno.. We went out and got the special DVD pack of Star Wars eps 4-6 + bonus DVD last night. Watched the first one... I don't care what anyone says... Those special effects etc were way ahead of their time and STILL better then some you see today!(especially on those cheesy sci fi made movies!)

I feel the same way with The Twlight Show. Sure, some of the special effects on it were cheesy but thsoe black and white episodes are a lot more thrilling than the colored ones.
Posted by: Shawn at September 25, 2004 3:39 PMAh, I did that a few weeks ago! I was backing out of a spot and I turned the wheel a little too soon clipped the bumper of the car next to me.
This is the second time I have had this type of accident since I've gotten my license. However, this is the first where I pressed the wrong pedal.
