I'm Back At School.
August 31, 2004

Yes, I am. After my IT class, I drove home. Around 2:30PM, Matthew and I left home so we could do something. The power went out at our house. Dang storm.

So, I'm at school working on my IT personal website. I'd like to get it out of the way now so I don't have to mess with it later. I was able to get my IT professor to approve of using subdirectories on my server space.

IT class was fun today. Sure, I was a little bored at some parts but when we started talking about spam, I spoke up and joked about it.

Before class, I was discussing my progress with my classmate. I mention that I needed to take a picture of myself because I didn't like my picture. He offered his digital camera. *Disbelief* I turned him down because I have one at home. I'll have to make Nicki take a picture of me.

Yes, a photo of ourself is required for the IT project. *Rolling My Eyes* But I don't want to share my photo.

As for Theater, which is actually before IT, well, it was again interesting. Today's class was short but we spent it on conveying a message in a still pose. My group did "Be curtious to others when smoking." My pose was staring at one of my partners with a napkin over my mouth and giving her a dirty look. *Laughing* The thing was, it was her idea and she's a smoker! Class was short because the professor needed to verify our attendence with the Registar's office. Which I need so I can get cut a financial aid check! *Laughing*

Well, that's enough for now. There are a few other sites I need to check out while I'm here. I'm not sure if we have power at home or not.

Ugh! I wish people would just lay off smokers. It's bad enough we're thrown outside or stuck back in a corner somewhere... We don't need the dirty looks and disgusted jestures thrown at us too.

The one thing I can't stand about smoking and it's VERY common here at school is how careless smokers are at times with their cigarettes. Many of them just walk around like they are the only ones around and don't watch where they are waving their lit cigarette. I have to be on the look out for flying ash and watch out for a burn because they simply cannot do it.

However, I'm very patient about the smoke at a smoker's home, or sitting in the smoking section of a restaurant. It's the price I pay for being exposed to smoke.

As for the class, it was just the gesture we had to make because we weren't allowed to move at all in the exercise!

I can understand that but I for one am not one of those careless people. If I'm in public, I always shield my cigarette so that no one will accidently walk into it or get burned, I usually don't walk around but chose to stand off to the side so I'm not flicking ashes around and we don't even smoke in our home. I just get tired of the looks and glares people give these days when 5 years ago people barely gave it a second thought. And I find the worst ones are the people who used to smoke but quit. They of all people should understand how difficult it is to quit and I honestly think they do it because they are afraid they will start smoking again. One of the main things I remember from the smoking cessation(sp?) class we took is they told us "there will always be a time your body is going to crave that cigarette even if it's been 10 years since your last one". I just get annoyed, smokers aren't bad people, we just have a bad addictive habit. I get tired of being looked at as the Anti-Christ just because I light up a cigarette.

Thank you Trish with being curtious with your cigarette. It's not that hard, is it?
