Minor League Ball Can Be A Blast!
July 11, 2004

Tonight, Nicki, Matthew, and I went to the Charleston Riverdogs/Savannah Sand Gnats game. The commercials I saw on TV all this week said free replica jerseys to the first 500 fans. That didn't happen. I was told they were for kids but I saw some teens with them, too. *Frown* That was disappointing but the game was a blast. We had perfect weather for the game, too, until it rained. I don't believe I broke out in a sweat at all tonight.

We sat in the bleachers by the bullpen. Matthew spent the whole game calling the bullpen losers and rooting for the Riverdogs. He doesn't have a clue about baseball and started asking all these questions about the game. And #36, Thomas Mitchell, spent most of the game staring at us. *Sigh* Especially when Nicki was on the phone!

Nicki was able to get a foul ball that bounced over near her. Some old man later yelled at her when she went to bathroom to give it to the kid it almost hit. *Rolling My Eyes* The lady behind us told Nicki she got the ball fair and square. And speaking of this lady, I want to smack some of the people she was with. They were from Jersey and rooted for #10, Jason Conlisk, because he was from Jersey. One of the guys was a New York Yankees fan. *Thumb Down* He acted like he knew everything! *Rolling My Eyes* I believe I overheard him say that the South Atlantic League is the lowest league in rookie ball. That's not true. There are at least 2 rookie leagues lower than SAL's low class A ball.

But all in all, it was a good night. It started raining in the 9th, so we used the umbrellas we brought to the game. The Gnats ended up winning the game, 7-6, in the 11th inning Nicki and Matthew both would like to go to another game. *Laughing*

Well, it's about midnight here in Savannah, so I am off to shower, take my contacts out, and go to bed. *Sleepy* Later gators! *Smile*
