"Everything You Want" by Vertical Horizon came on my radio yesterday on my way home from school. Something about that song strikes a chord in me and makes me feel as if it's about me.
Ah yes, yesterday. what did I do yesterday since I didn't post? Well, for starters, I went to school. I got to class early and talked a bit to Noir Fierté. Again, he asked if I was a history major and again I said I wasn't. He said I should because I "would kill at it." He also said he would have lost a bet if betted on my being a history major. He said I probably got a 100 on my test (I did.) He told me he loves history and astronomy. His wife doesn't like to hear go one about those subjects but his little daughter listens. Maybe I have the wrong opinions on the guy. During the class, my professor made a remark that he was warned about Noir Fierté from other professors in the department. Seems the department does know about him, after all. While he, Noir Fierté, can still scare me at history, I must say I do admire that his loves the subject. Most people can't stand the subject. At least he's willing to learn more about it.
Ethics was, well, Ethics. We started discussing Our Nig by Harriet Wilson. While the title can be quite embarrassing, it is a well written book. It is believed to be the first novel published by a black woman in the United States. In class, we went over a bunch of questions related to the novel.
After school, I came home to join my mother in entertaining her friends from Augusta. It was Nancy, her husband, and Nancy's friend, Patsy. They came to spend the day and picked up their dolls my mother picked up for them in Texas. We had lunch at Carey Hilliard's with their other Chatty friend that lives in town. Nancy had never had Carey Hilliard's and wanted to try it. We spent about an hour and a half there. From lunch, the Augusta crew left town and the in-town Chatty friend came over to look at the doll and her goods my mother got in Texas.
While my mother was showing off her dolls, the wave of tiredness that has hit me since I started school this semester hit me. I know it's related to the swimming I do, but I didn't even swim Friday! I try to get enough sleep at night but I just can't get enough sleep. I'm all the time sleeping. I finally took a nap around 5 PM that lasted until 7:30 PM If I wasn't sleeping, I was just lying in bed. The same time I started napping, thunderstorms moved into the area. Because our cable modem was struck by lightning nearly two years ago, taking out the router, every time a storm comes through, we disconnect the cable, therefor, no Internet. Just as well not getting on. I needed the sleep.
Finally, I got up to watch the Boston Red Sox/Atlanta Braves game. However, I was falling asleep by the end of the 8th inning. I didn't get to watch the extra innings to see the Braves won the game on a walk-off home run by Nick Green.
And now to do Saturday's stuff
