My mother spent all night on the phone last night talking to her friends in El Paso. I kept trying to get her to go to bed but I gave up around 3:30 this morning. My mother is planning to go see them in about 2 weeks. My father is to travel with her by car but with the G8 Summit approaching, trying to get vacation time is hard. His company wants him to take the summit week off, which is a week before. My mother has decided that if he can't go, I'll will be going and we'd be taking a plane.

Yes, I'm a little afraid of flying. And my mother does not blame me for blaming her for this fear because she knows she's foisted fears on me. I'm her oldest, so it's only natural. I did fly about 5 years ago to Queens. That was my only flight. It was less than 2 hours from Atlanta to Queens. It's about 7 hours from Savannah to El Paso! It didn't help to know I watched two programs on plane accidents this week and to remember that of the weekend of my only trip by plane ever, John F. Kennedy, Jr. died in a crash. So, I'm a little nervous about that prospect. I'll get over it. If baseball players can fly all the time, what's one little trip for me? I know I will. I'm still hoping my father gets his time off requested.

What else? I took the Geek Test, as seen on other sites. My score: 14.00394% - Geekish Tendencies. I'm surprised I'm not geekish enough.

And finally, my dreams last night were crazy. They involved Superman in one and finding out whoever I was in the first person role as was pregnant. Odd.
