Ok, summer vacation is really boring. I could describe helping my sister, father, and, brother with moving and cleaning Nicki's disaster of an apartment from yesterday but that would be too much. I hope I don't have to return there again. ![]()
So, I thought I'd just discuss the 14 songs on my Winamp playlist and why I'm listening to them. Here we go:
- Britney Spears - "Walk On By" - This is one of her B-sides from the Oops!
I Did It Again album, found on import versions of the "Stronger" single. It's one of her prettier songs. Sex Pot Britney ==
Sweet Yet Real Britney ==
- Fastball - "Out Of My Head" - I enjoy this song. It reminds me of the trip to Nashville summer of '99 that my sister, Shuggy, Jenni, and I made to go see *NSYNC live. It was my first trip without my mother that wasn't with other maternal figures, like the Richard Marx NY/CT trip I took a few weeks prior. It was fun living life like a 20-year-old that always played worrywart could. This song played a lot on that trip.
- Jamie O' Neal - "There Is No Arizona" - This song strikes a nerve in me. It makes me appreciate myself. It's very sad.
- Jamie O' Neal - "When I Think About Angels" - Where as this Jamie O'Neal song is upbeat and sweet. The story behind this song was it was written for her dog, or so I have heard. Not that it matters. It's about any creature that brings you joy.
- Jennifer Lopez - "Ain't It Funny" - The original version on the J.Lo album, not the radio remix. I heard this version quite a bit on the trip to Orlando 2002 with Nicki & Jenni.
- Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey - "Where You Are" - This song made me by Jessica's first album. It's a sad song but I like it.
- Lifehouse - "Breathing" My favorite line in this song is "I'm trying to identify the voices in my head / God which one is you?"
- Natalie Imbruglia - "Wrong Impression" (Radio Mix) - The other song that got heavy rotation on that Orlando 2002 trip. Besides, the import single was like $4 at the Virgin Megastore. I blew a lot of money at that store each time I went to Orlando. Just look at Nicki's CD collection to see it!
- Richard Marx - "Back To Me" - You knew Richard would be on it! This is my favorite of the three songs they used to have available for download on his site.
- Shakira - "Ready For The Good Times" - It's upbeat and catchy.
- Stacie Orrico - "(there's gotta be) More To Life" - A song that questions "Why can't I be happy?"
- The Sally Zito Project - "Greenline" - Yes, this is the sister of that other Zito I mention quite a bit. I download this song a few nights ago for the fun of it and quite liked it. It's mainly a piano piece, which is nice from the usual guitar based music I listen to. The lyrics to the other songs aren't that bad, either.
- Vertical Horizon - "Everything You Want" - I feel like this song fits me to a tee. I have a great life, yet I want more, but I don't know what more is. This best line is at the end with "Out of the island ."
- Warren Zevon - "Keep Me In Your Heart" - I have this song on the 2004 Grammy Nominees album but it wasn't until I heard it on the Grammy awards did I hear it and fell in love with it. I honestly though it, and not Richard Marx & Luther Vandross, would have won Song Of The Year. The lyrics tug at my heart strings.
I absolutely LOVE the album version of Ain't It Funny ... that song's the only reason I bought that particular CD. In fact, I'm gonna go take a shower and pop that CD into the bathroom cd player and program it for that song.
it's just so fun!
