Very Busy. I spent most of the day on Hunter AAF with my mother. At first, we took my father lunch. We had to stop and get a pass for being on Hunter. With the G8 summit approaching, Hunter must prepare for the President. So, that was a major hassle for us, so we decided since we're on Hunter, to register my car. However, prior to getting the sticker, we had lunch with my father. During lunch, my eyes watered/itched and I needed some eye drops. I asked if we could get some. So, we decided to shop at the PX. Since my mother had a $50.00 card to spend, we decided to spend it all. After spending about an hour at the PX, we took care of my car. After finally leaving Hunter, we went to mail off the Traveling Charmin' doll. Then we stopped at a TV repair shop to see if they could fix my TV. The guy said that it would be just as cheap to get a new TV. That was errand trip #1.
Errand trip #2: My sister's "boyfriend" needed some anti-freeze, so the whole family went out to take it to him, in two cars. From there, Nicki went home and they rest of us went to the mall. Beth needed some 2" pumps for her choir performance this week. We went to the Payless in the mall. Then Beth asked for a smoothie from a food shop in the food court on the other side of the mall. My father suggested we go and have dinner in the food court. After dinner, I suggest we get me a new TV. We went to Best Buy and found an open model TV that fit my father's criteria for electronics. We waited for a salesperson and two salesmen just couldn't bother. Psycho Daddy Customer came out. I pity the poor soul that he is not angry at but does end up helping him. My father was able to get a remote, which was not included in the price of the TV because of the poor service we had. On the way home, we all had a good laugh at my father's account of our TV shopping. My mother brought up her flag dispute at a Barnes restaurant about a month ago to compare her anger from that day to my father's anger today.
My old TV is still good. It just won't respond to a remote anymore. Beth asked for that TV so we gave it to her. She was used to having a remoteless TV (like they had in the old days and ENJOYED!
). Her old TV was like that. Now, she just has a bigger one.
Finally, a quiz to chill out:

You're My Little Pony!! Sweet and innocent and
happy, you make people want to spew burrito
chunks. Even a Care Bear could kick your ass.
What childhood toy from the 80s are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Found at Manky's. And I beg to differ about the pony remark. My Little Ponies could kick some ass. Of course, they needed the Rainbow of Light to do it. ![]()

I somehow ended up on your site with all of the poems. I would like to tell you that we are so....alike. Oh my goodness. These poems seemed as if they came from my handwriting. It is odd, how everyone is alike in some way. Reading some of these has helped me to realize that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I hope you don't mind, but I put one of your poems on my xanga site. It's titled "self hate". That might make me sound like a freak. I picked one of your more depressing poems, yet that was the how I ended up on your site, which by the way is really really really cute!! I enjoyed the poem because I feel as if I don't have very many close friends, I want to be accepted by everyone, yet I want to be my own person. That is so...confusing isn't it? Well anyways, My name is Jessica, I live in Minnesota, and i was just going to say..."nice to meet you" :::shakes your hand::: Have a nice week!!
Oh dear, Which 80's Toy Am I?
"You're GI Joe with the Kung Fu Grip!! You're strong, tough, and know how to kick some ass. Don't forget though, no matter how manly you think you are, you're still just a doll. God Bless America." I think I need to become more girlyfied.
Posted by: Chewie at May 20, 2004 6:50 AMJessica, thanks for visting my site.
I had a few G.I. Joes, but only the girl ones. Nicki could keep the others since she liked that show. My father would come home each afternoon while we lived in Augusta and would watch G.I. Joe with her.
I loved my Etch-a-sketch! Of course, I wasn't a master artist on it.
Posted by: Shawn at May 21, 2004 11:19 AMI loved my My Little Ponies. I still have mine.
Which one was your favorite? Mine was Firefly or Melody. Of course, I liked Holly (the December pony), as well.

Cotton Candy, Moon Dancer, had their babies, too. Also
Hippity-Hop. She was furry but had bunnies on her butt. I had Holly, too. My sister and I would use those Birthflower Ponies as the Pony Defense System when playing.
I'm going to have to compile a list of all the Ponies I had. Many of them are out in the garage now.
Posted by: Shawn at May 23, 2004 9:39 PMHere's my complete Pony list. This is not counting the Birthflower set or Nicki's own collection. She had a boatload, too. The older we got, my mother had two babies to care for, therefore, not as many ponies for us. By the time I was 10/11, I had outgrown Ponies.
