Happy Mother's Day Momma And Happy Birthday Daddy!
May 9, 2004

Today is a double whammy for my family. Mother's Day has fallen on my father's 50th birthday this year. Man, is my father really 50? I remember when he was 30, back when I was only 5! *EEK!* We're all getting old, I guess.

Later today, the family will be having dinner at The Lady & Sons Restaurant. This was my father's choice to celebrate his birthday at. Grandpa, my father's father, is in town long with his fiancée. They came down from Nashville to celebrate my father's 50th.

Earlier this morning, we gave my mother a card from all of us. Nicki got her a gift from all of us the other day. I think it was Barbershop on DVD. My mother enjoyed that movie. Nicki bought the gift since she gets discounts at work.

After Grandpa and his fiancée arrived yesterday, I escorted them to Hunter so Grandpa could get a few items they needed. His fiancée will not replace Grandma but she's totally different from Grandma. Most people would be a little afraid of that but I think my family is handling it nicely. The fiancée is a total 180 from Grandma and in my family here in Georgia, we're not afraid because we all were a 180 from Grandma, too. Last night, we all went to dinner at The Exchange on Waters. Big bill for 8 of us dining.

So, that's my weekend with family, so far. Later Gators!

Your Dad isn't old. Mine is 64 years old now... But as your Grandpa is proving... age means nothing. I think it's so cute that he's dating and has a fiance! Sorry I'm just a hopeless(or hopeful as Travis likes to call me) romantic and think that is so cute.

Yes, age means nothing. Plus, he enjoyed his Jack and 7 very much.

Can you believe that they are getting married? She is really a great woman, and I love her so much, BUT I never thought that Grandpa would marry her. I hope them the best. It is still a little bit weird though. Are yall coming to the wedding? My kids are going to be in it. MariLynn is junior bm, McKelvy is junior gm, and Makenzie is flowergirl. I think it is so sweet for him to involve the kids in it. Hope yall had a good visit!

As for the wedding, I don't know but I guess. It's during the holiday break we'll all have. And of course he'll invovle the kids, after all, they are a big part of his life. I don't see why they shouldn't get married. No offense to Grandma (please forgive me, Grandma) but he seems more relaxed with her than he did with Grandma. Grandma was all business. The only times I can recall Granma not being the ideal business Army wife was when it dealt with Elvis.
