And boy do I! A few weeks ago, when Matthew bought Namcomuseum for the Game Cube. On it, it has classic Atari videos games from my childhood. Included are Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, and another Pac Mac game I have never seen before. Lately, I've been wanting to play all the Pacs.
Back in the late '80s, my family didn't have a state-of-the-art 8 bit Nintendo system. We had the Atari 2600, though! We got one way back in 1982 and many of the games were originally for my parents. (Eek! To trail off on a tangent, my parents weren't much older than I am now when we got it!) I would play a bunch of Activision games, like River Raid, and Ms. Pac Man. I could play these games for hours on end. I would have to turn off the game after my hand would go into Joystick Shock because, at times, I just couldn't die.
And yes, that title is a lyric from "Pac-Man Fever."

Haha, we didn't even have a 2600...we had the ORIGINAL atari. I loved Circus Atari, Combat, and Sky Diver...oh, and I almost forgot Frogs and Flies. I never did get an nintendo or anything until Don and I got married and I got him a PS1 (after the PS2s were out)...and, of course, we just got an XBox.
My Orthodontist had a Ms. Pacman arcade machine in the waiting room...I played that quite often, since I went to him for 10 years.
Anyone else out there go for Summer Games on the Commodore 64? Now that is a classic.
Posted by: Chewie at April 26, 2004 3:04 PMI miss Atari... I want it back.... Even the old games they try to bring out of PS and Sega etc aren't the same...
Posted by: Dragon at April 26, 2004 4:04 PMI wish I had a joystick for the Game Cube. Sure would make these reissues easier to play.
And Chewie, you can get Namcomuseum for the Xbox. -- 10 years for an orthodontist!
I only went for 3½ years and I had some of the worst teeth ever!
I'm here to pass on the love in conjunction with Erika's Blogger Love-In day. Love to you for inspiring me to create my very own blog a little over 1 year ago!
Posted by: Christy at April 27, 2004 12:30 AMThank you Christy! Thank you for the Love-In note.
I admire you for being a strong person!
You sure handle things that I doubt I'd be able to.
Yeah, Shawn....your teeth might've been screwy, but my whole jaw was screwy. I had four retainers, one before braces, one during, and two after. Braces took me three and a half years...it was that, or break my jaw (which sometimes I wish they'd done instead...my teeth were ok, but my jaw was way out of line).
Posted by: Chewie at April 28, 2004 5:54 PMI was to wear head gear for my jaw since I have an overbite but I never got it. I guess moving during braces, it got lost in translation. Not that it hurt me. I'm glad I didn't have to wear head gear. My teeth are straight, except for one tooth that turned a bit but isn't too bad. My mother had the same problem with the same tooth.
Nicki was told that breaking her jaw might be needed for her second set of braces to correct her bite. She went through it twice since her teeth went crooked after her first set. My mother declined on the jaw breaking.
Nicki & I got my mother's teeth. Matthew & Beth lucked out. They got my father's teeth. He never need braces.
