Petty 6th Grade Politics.
April 20, 2004

This entry deals with the Richard Marx Board. It might be offensive to some. I started it before I went to school and decided not to post it but I had a change of heart at school after reading some other Xangas.

I've been trying to stay out of the new round of Richard Marx Board politics but I can't. Not after a thread that started yesterday. I'd vent on the board I don't want to stir anymore trouble there that is already there.

We are all adults at this board. Yet, many of us act like 6th graders. *Crying* I am not 12-years-old anymore. I shouldn't feel like I am, being torn between Nikki Brown and Bobbie Jo Murillo. Yet, that is actually how I'm feeling at this moment.

So what happened yesterday that brought me to the boiling point? Well, for the past few days, factions are fighting against each other over the contents of the posts. The simple solution would to be scan over the posts you don't like. Most browsers have a find function that if you are looking for a post directed at you, you can use the search function for your name. I guess no one uses it. *Sigh* However, they are fussing about some people posting one liners. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black! I've been around the board for 6½ years. I think I've seen enough at the board to know most of the people are ones to talk.

So what happened yesterday? Well, a good friend, one of the sweetest people on the board, posted about hearing the new Richard Marx single. Should be great, positive news. Well, the thread turned sour. One of the jokers replied to the originally poster about let's not all hound police departments. It was clearly a joke. Well, the joke, I guess, didn't pan out with many. The positive thread has a few negative posts in it.

Well, I thought I'd let that slide but I can't. Yes, here comes the drama for drama lovers. *Rolling My Eyes* Not after reading a few fans' Xangas could I just walk away. I'm sick of the petty stuff I saw in these Xangas. I've been trying to stay out but I am hurting here, too.

Substance in a post is a subjective item. What one may consider frivolous means something to another person. And maybe, believe it or not, these "frivolous" items mean something to other people's friends, too. I think the reason most people don't like the joker is that they don't understand her humor. As to why they don't get it, I don't know. It's anyone's guess. However, the joker is one of the sweetest persons I know, too. I guess I understand her well because we're very alike. Also, I think we remember that we are humans on our side of the computer but we are forgetting on the other side of the Internet, there's another person that's living.

Some people are probably thinking at this moment I'm choosing one side over the other. I am not. The only side I'm on is that I'm sick of being 12 again and that's exactly how I'm feeling in this war. I am not choosing one friend over another. I should be able to be friends with anyone I want and should not feel like I'm playing in a land minefield. Yet, I am.

Well, enough about the petty 6th grade politics. There's more to life than this. I think I'm going to explore it.

And now you see why I don't go to the boards anymore.

Yeah well we'll see what happens in that new thread you created... I may have come out of lurkdom for the moment but one snide or rude comment and I'm outta there.
