Search queries for people looking for Maroon 5 tickets for the Armstrong Show. I started getting them yesterday. At the rate they were selling, I think the only way to get them now would be to win them from the radio station, unless the they have tickets set aside for day-of-show sales.
I spent most of my day working on my Thomas Lux project. I should get nice points on presentation.
I put effort in it, even if I feel the biography and critical analysis of the poem "You Go to School to Learn" is weak. I also worked on a reading response for Civ. and in the process of reading the first 770 lines of Oedipus The King for English. I read this 10 years ago in 9th grade but back then, it was known as Oedipus Rex. I guess the book's publisher thought kids these days wouldn't know what Rex meant.
Honestly, I don't know why there is a difference between the title now and then.
Have a great rest of the weekend. Off to watch the
Baltimore Orioles/Boston Red Sox game and fix my blogrolling links.

They changed the name? How ridiculous! Why not just try oh... maybe TEACHING in school? "oh gee, students don't know that term so we'll just change the name of a classic piece of literature instead of teaching them what it means..." UGH!! No wonder some kids are so fricken stupid these days!
Posted by: Dragon at April 4, 2004 11:50 PMWell, at least my English professor referred to it as Oedipus Rex. I was grateful for that, even if some of the kids in the class had no clue about Greek theater.
Posted by: Shawn at April 5, 2004 6:33 PMIt's just ridiculous how kids/students are catered to these days. That kind of thing would have never flown when I was in high school. We learned it like it was originally meant to be learned... Not cut down and "softened" so we can easily understand without having to really learn anything. Just makes me angry.
Posted by: Dragon at April 6, 2004 12:03 AMYou're right. Things keep being dumbed down to boost self esteem of those that are normal and are not too smart. Sort of like Jeopardy!. When I was a child, it was tough. It was tough for an adult, not just a child. Now, they have video clues and some really dumbed down clues PLUS they have doubled the dollar amounts.
America's being dumbed down and that's stupid.
