Well, Got That Ou
March 3, 2004

And I mean the conference with the English professor. She told me my paper was good but it just wasn't persuasive enough. I told her I don't write that way because it's not my place to change someone's beliefs and ideals. I didn't tell her why I thing that but it goes back to 11th grade Current Events class. In that class, I remarked I found homosexuality disgusting but I didn't mind gays and lesbians adopting children. Let me clarify this position as to why find it disgusting. I don't find people of same sex loving each other. What they do in their bedrooms is their business. However, I don't like it flaunted in front of me. I think most people understand what exactly I find offensive. I don't like straight PDAs either. However, I think gays and lesbians should be adopt children. There are many children that need and want homes. I think it's wrong to prevent people wanting to love these children and will be exceptional parents from adopting on the basis of their sexual orientation.

After I said my remark in Current Events, my teacher harped on me for saying I found it disgusting. After that event, I don't like stating my opinions because I don't want to be made to feel bad about my thoughts. I think that's wrong. And that's why in my English paper, I acknowledged that other view points were possible. That's just how I am now thanks to the Current Events class. Ask me for my opinion and I'll give it but I'll also acknowledge other points of views. Besides, I've also been taught give a full story, not just one side. That's the main reason you see me try to stay clear of current events in my blog that are hotly debated.

Also in this conference, she told me I was on the right track. She told me my mid-term was excellent and she doesn't just hand out As unless they are deserving. The funny thing about that essay is that I feel like it's a bunch of B.S. Not her comment but the essay. I worked on it in about an hour's time last week, as was the guideline.

Well, that was my day. Go to school and such. Tomorrow will be more exciting since I only have one class. *Thumb Up* I'm so happy I don't have to sit through psychology. Many of in that class have spoken to each other and find out we all check the clock every 5 minutes.

It's a fine line being PC or being wishy-washy. Unfortunately, that line wavers from person to person.
