I'm talking about the new virus, Novarg, that appeared yesterday. I got 2 suspicious e-mails claiming to be from someone at the University of Ottawa. They came with attachments and that clued me in that there was a new virus on the loose. I don't know ANYONE at the University of Ottawa. In fact, all the messages I'm getting relating to this virus seem to be originating in Canada.
I kind of got a chuckle
listening to Headline News this afternoon and hearing their computer expert speak out Windows computers being used in a war between Linux users and SCO. I'm now wishing I had a Mac. Safari, Helvetica, and now the lack of virii is making me wish I had a Mac. Maybe one day. Hopefully if I do go into Information Technology, they'll train us on all sorts of computers, not just PCs.
Of course, the amount of virii related e-mail would stop if people would simply not open attachments they get from strangers!
OK, now that that's out of the way, I had a test in Psychology. Have I told you I really don't like Psychology? Well, I'm not fond of the fact I need to take it. Before the test, we took a quick survey about Islam and Muslims. It was worth an extra point. I made it clear on my survey that in theory, the religion of Islam isn't bad it just all those that think they should murder to solve their problems are the ones ruining it for the rest of those that practice. Exactly what does these murdering extremists think they'll get if they kill someone? They shouldn't be getting their 5 million virgins, that's for sure. As for the test, I don't think I did so well. I should at least pass it. I even attempted the other extra credit. I'll be happy to get out of Psychology with a B. ![]()
Thursday, I have a test in Hist. 1100. It's all essays. I'm going to have to sit down and study for that one.
Why must we be essayed to death? ![]()

Gosh, I'm glad I don't have any classes this semester!
Maybe you did better than you think on that test - I'll cross my fingers for you.
TTYL!

I don't like psychology either. I somehow managed to skip out of that requirement in high school by taking aeronautics instead.
Posted by: sya at January 27, 2004 9:21 PMAs long as there are geekoids with no other fricken life but to write these viruses and try to hack people's computers it's not going to matter what op. system you have. It's just a sad world we live in that these people have nothing better to do with their talent then try to harm other people's property. They got all these smarts to write the virus, why not put them to some GOOD use instead of this kind of crap. But sadly, as I said it's never going to change. As long as there are computers, MAC or Windows, Linex or Brand X, there are going to be viruses and hackers. I've been getting quite a few myself but my Norton's catches them every time thank good ness.
I never minded essays too much but give me multiple choice any day! Hehehe. And I'm sure you did fine on your test. You always worry and you always do just fine so why bother with the worry? Good point ain't it? Yeah I know... coming from a consumate worrier I know it's easier said then done!
Posted by: Dragon at January 28, 2004 2:55 AMThanks Lynn.
I think it worked.
Sya, I understand. I wouldn't give up my Windows, really, but if I had the money, I'd have a Mac, too. However, Macs aren't as widespread as PCs.
And Trish, I know virii and the losers behind them will be a part of life but when's the last time you heard of one targeting Macs or Linux? I can't think of one off hand.

A-MEN, girl! WHEN will people get this?
My anti-spam software just tosses all of this crap into the Deleted folder, which I can empty with a single click...buh-bye, virii!
Too many people just bring this virus crap upon themselves, just by being stupid. You are smart to just toss those messages away without opening them.

Yes, but Macs don't contain fatal flaws that were known about at least three years ago. Oh yeah, and this isn't against SCO, its against Microshaft. Be interesting to see if it can actually take them down.
Posted by: Chewie at January 29, 2004 6:36 AMIf an attachment is that important, I rather deleted it and have a person chew me out about it and have to send it again than open a virus up on my computer.
3 year old flaw?
What is MS doing then? Hey MS, FIX YOUR DAMN FLAWS! This is getting silly and dumb. I'm aware the the SCO attack is just a ruse. Half the Linux community is cheering that SCO will get hammered while the other half is pissed that this virus is making them look like the fools.
